NUVELL CREDIT - NUVELL FINANCIAL SERVICES harrassing collection procedures ripoff Little Rock Arkansas

Three years ago I bought a slightly used vehicle from a dealer in Florida for $21,000. I am 64 years old and have had many auto loans in my lifetime, never late and always paid in full. at the time, I had recently relocated to Florida from another state and being employed by four different firms in a short period of time, until I found one that was mutually suitable, the dealer told me that GMAC wouldn't finance me but they could use NUVELL which was owned by GMAC and the same anyway. Although I had never heard of NUVELL, I accepted the loan with a small down payment and drove the vehicle home.

After making 23 payments in a row never late we found ourselves a little short one monh. My wife called NUVELL and asked if she could send them a payment that would be $100.00 short, the $100 plus finance charge would be made up on the next month's payment, they said no problem.

About ten days later we received a phone call from NUVELL demanding the full payment. Even though I had the $100 at the time I told the woman on the phone that I felt they were going against their word, and an agreement that was already made, and I would make the payment as previously agreed to. She got very indignant and demanded the payment now or she would start collection procedures and slamed the phone down on me. I immediatly called her back (with redial) and we got into a shouting match in which I told her she was not professional in her manner and this time I hung up the phone.

A couple of days later my 85 year old mother phoned me and asked me if everything was OK and she seemed very upset. When I asked her what was wrong she told me the same woman from NUVELL called her and told her I was not paying my bills.I explained the situation to my mom and tried to calm her, at that age I didn't want to see her so upset because I didn't know what could happen to her. Again I called this woman at NUVELL and told her she had no right to do that and again, told her she was very unproffessional and she would get paid as originally agreed.

Again, a couple of days later my PASTOR from my church called me and asked if everything was OK because he received a call from this woman at NUVELL. Again I called her back to complain about her tactics and she told me if I didn't pay her immediatly she would start calling MY NEIGHBORS!! By this time it was time to make the payment as agreed to anyway, which I did.

Needless to say I will never deal with this company again, in fact, I went to my bank and got a home equity loan and paid NUVELL in full. That was over a month ago and I am still waiting for the title to the vehicle. I hope I do not get another hassle about this!

If this is not considered harrassment, what is?
