In May we gave our 16 boxes to Ocean Star for relocating to Russia. They SWEARED it would take 2 weeks maximum for the goods to arrive at the destination. It has been 2 months already and nothing has arrived yet! But that's just the beginning!

All along the way they lied to us and feeded us empty promises. First they promised that the boxes wiould leave U.S.A. on May 18th, which did not happen. Then suddenly they dissapear and ignore our emails and calls for a while with an excuse that Kevin was on a vacation (wasn't he supposed to have some kind of an "away from office" message or at least refer his clients to someone else at that time??) After weeks of trying, we got a hold of Michael Jacobs, who blaimed the delay on the difficulty of dealing with Russia... Hm, I thought it's not their first time shipping to Russia (at least that's what they said) and they should have estimated the time a little better.

They have never, not once, contacted us with an update on what's going on. Talk customer service!! We had to call them from Russia (not a very cheap call) and be on hold forever. So many times we've heard this: "Your boxes will leave the States this Friday and will be in Moscow the next day".. And every time it was a lie; when we called, they repeated the above phrase again, "re-scheduling" for another Friday. Then it turned out that the boxes CANNOT even leave the States without Ocean Star giving us Power of Attorney form to fill out first!!! Question: how the hell can a 'reliable' company not even know they were supposed to get the documents first??? It's unbelievable how disorganized their work is.

Ok, we have filled out and notarized Power of Attorney for their workers to get our boxes at the border.. Then we heard the same 'Friday' promise again.. which was a lie of course :) The boxes did not leave on Friday, today is Wednesday of the next week, and the Russian broker told us they have just arrived in Moscow... Don't know if I should believe it or not. After that they have to transport our stuff to our home city, which is 400 miles away from Moscow... who knows when they'll actually arrive. I'm already preparing to file a claim just in case something is lost or damaged, because with the way this company does business there's a good chance the goods will not arrive safely :(

Also, I have provided them with 2 copies of the detaied description of what's in each box and it's value, as well as all the rest of the documents. Weeks from that moment, they email us asking to confirm that the value of our items is $10000. Where did they get that amount from?????????? The estimated value of our goods was a bit more than $7000, and I put that in the documents... After I told them to look for the papers and put the correct amount in the invoice, they just put $7000 even... which was not correct, it should have been a few hundreds more!!! I think they either lost my insurance form or didn't bother to look at it. I was too exhausted to battle that, I was already happy they at least did something.

Oh and another thing: They have asked us to pay $5.5 thousand dollars beforehand, which was not exactly the amount they quoted first :) And they said that's not it, we might have to pay some more later when we receive the boxes. We might have to pay for the shipping more that everything even costs.. Very very strange.
