Offerpal Media is just another sham company that does not deliver on it's promises.  My situation is an exact mirror image of the previous report on this company.

I play Mafia Wars on Facebook, and to earn extra "Godfather Points" you can eaither buy them outright, or subscribe to various offers.  Typically the offers are much more generous than actually buying the points directly.  I selected 2 offers that appealed to me (Metro Coffee Direct <aka: Seattle Coffee Direct>, and the Disney Movie Club Offer).  Total points I should have received from both is 220.

TIMELINE:

Sep 11, 2009

Within the game, there is a link to click to report missing points.  For awhile, the offers I chose would appear there with just a pending status.  I contacted Offerpal through the link provided to report the missing points.

Sep 13, 2009

I got a reply email asking for any documentation to validate my claim, such as a copy of the credit card statement showing I had indeed signed up for those offers.  This wasn't a problem, and I immediately responded by emailing them a copy of my credit card statement showing the charges, from my bank's website, as they suggested.  The subject of their reply email was:  Re: [Ticket#2009091210064966] Mafia Wars FB-34MSPRD_123156798.

Sep 16, 2009

I once again emailed Offerpal requesting my points, or at the very least, an update as to the status of their inquiry.  I never received a response from them.

Sep 21, 2009

Again, I emailed Offerpal, asking to be updated on what was going on, where my missing points were, and/or why no one was responding to me now that I actually sent them the proof they asked for.  Yet again, I got no response.

Sep 27, 2009

By this time, it has been just over 2 weeks, and the services I signed up for are already starting to arrive at my house.  So once again, I email Offerpal asking for my missing points.  This time, I even attach the shipping and packing list documents from the coffee and movies, further substantiating my claim.  And again, I never got a response.

Oct 16, 2009

Having gone over 30 days now, I checked back on the "Missing Points" link within the game.  Go figure, exactly like the previous report, all of a sudden, my missing point offers were no where to be found.  They went from "pending" to flat out missing!  I will be calling Offerpal later today in order to get an answer on not just why my points are still missing, but why I have not gotten a response.  Without the matter being cleared up within 5 days, I'll also make them aware of my intention on filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, and speak to an attorney I have on retainer regarding possible class action against this company, if it appears to be a widespread problem and they are failing to deliver on their promises.  It is the equivalent of theft, deception, and misrepresentation.  If they are taking a kickback from their advertisers for bringing in new customers, and then to purchase (at a much more affordable rate) bulk points to be delivered to us consumers through things like these games, and they aren't delivering them, then that constitutes embezzlement and fraud.  Those are two serious charges, no matter the scale, which carry more than just fines and retribution... they carry jail time.  People need to stand up and not be lead astray by companies that feel their sheer lack of a dominating presence somehow makes them invisible and able to slip under the law.  Offerpal is just one of those companies.

Luckily, I live in California, where Offermail Main Office is located.  Please leave report here, with details, if this has also happened to you, as it will help in building a case against the company.

Offerpal makes good after this report

AUTHOR: Jason - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 30, 2009

Apparently, Offerpal does care about their image.  Just a couple days after filing my initial report, I received an email from them informing me that they'd credited all my missing point, and added an additional amount for any inconvenience.  According to the email, the problem occurred because my correspondance and/or offers had ended up in a place that no one was checking up on.  Furthermore, their marketing director wrote me another email, apologizing for any mix-up and delay.

Because I think that it was entirely possible that may be what happened, and because there really aren't many other reports about the company on here, I feel pretty confident in saying that it most likely was just a mix up, and the company more than adequately compensated me for the problem.

While the timeline in my original complaint is correct, I would like to voluntarily withdraw my initial complaint and chalk it up to a technical foul.  Thank you, Offerpal, for finding my report, and making good on the problem.
