I contacted Omnitech support due to an ad that fix problems free if under 15 minutes. One tech worked on my problem (remotely) for over an hour. He then talked me into a 3 month contract to continue. He passed to another tech who spent another hour plus doing the same thing as the first. Second tech stated that he had to escalate the problem to a senior tech. Never heard from them. Finally, I contacted them again and another tech answered. I told him the problem and record number. I wanted this escalated. It took me a half hour to get him to transfer me appropriately. New tech tried the same as the first 2 and went further and stated that I had to have it escalated (I had told them that before). Another 2 hours with a senior tech (?) yielded no results and the computer was worse than before because he downloaded some programs that screwed up my Bios. Further contact has been fruitless, I have been unable to get any response. I now have to get an evaluation to see if the system is salvageable.

Unhappy Customer

AUTHOR: Michael Steinberg - (United States of America)

I can not describe the high level of incompetence these omnitech support telephone people have. They don't know how to talk on the phone suddenly after you have given them your credit card number and they shut your chat window history off. They don't make any recovey or back up files for you before they attempt to do any registry fixes or servixce pack upgrades. After they give your computer the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) they tell you "We are sorrry" and then they tell you to take your computer to your local computer service tech to fix what they have created. All I wanted them to do was get my Office 2010 to work on my Vista OS computer. They failed miserably. Now I am pursuing all avenues to get them to pay and to make sure they don't do it to anyone else. They will pay and justice is just around the corner, so help me god.

I used them yesterday referred to them by Sony for my out of warranty notebook. I googled them and noticed this complaint and used them anyhow. I must say I got great service and at a very reasonable price.  Sure they tried to upsell me, but after all they have a business to run. I was quite pleased

OmniTech Support

Omni-Tech Support solves thousand of Microsoft-Office and Operating Systems issues that can be solved remotely. Many issues are often complex and take more that the 15 minutes free period to resolve, some require hands-on service, but over half are remotely solved for the customer within the free period. This is an unmatched service offer!

The customer contacted our technical support and after remotely accessing his computer, it was obvious that attempting to provide service for his multiple problems would require far more than the 15 minute free period we offer. From the transcript, the customer states that he had two USB ports that did not function and that one of the memory slots on his motherboard had a problem. Unfortunately, those problems may sometimes be caused by inadvertently dropping or bumping a computer, or spilling something on it and sometimes they may simply be due to malfunctioning hardware, or the instructions that the hardware uses.

However, we attempted remote access to see if we could fix his problem from within (such as a misconfigured device manager or a registry error) and help him avoid more costly hands-on service. We worked for hours on his issue and told him we would need more time to research this. We called this customer and, as we could not reach the customer, we sent an email requesting him to re-contact us via chat or phone so that we could further try to resolve the issue.. As we were unable to resolve his apparent hardware issues, we completely refunded the money by paid by him. The only software loaded on to his computer was one that allowed us to temporarily access his computer and the customer has been informed before we take control over his computer that This is a secure chat and I will have no access to your computer once you disconnect the chat window. In addition, you will be able to see every step that I do on your system and you can override me at any time.

We do not have any of this customers money, we did not cause his apparent hardware issues. All we did was attempt to save him money and help him to avoid future issues. Were very sorry he is unhappy with the attention he received.
