I purchased a camera from Tiger Direct in September because it offered a $50 rebate. I filed the rebate with onrebate.com exactly as required within the specified time, confirmed my filing and mailed in my paperwork. My rebate was accepted on 9/27/06 as stated on their website. The rebate terms stated that I would receive my refund in 8 to 10 weeks after the rebate was accepted. It has been 14 weeks and NO REBATE. It shows clearly on the website that no payment has been sent. I have sent two emails with NO RESPONSE. I have made a total of 5 phone calls and waited on hold up to 2 hours and 15 minutes before I finally gave up. NO ONE EVER ANSWERED THE PHONE. I can't complain about bad customer service with a company that has absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Apparently, when the President calls other people to resolve their problems, its because he is the only customer service employee. I think this place is a joke. I will no longer purchase from Tiger Direct because of this issue. You better beware if you want to buy from Tiger Direct. If the price isn't good without the rebate, don't buy it. You won't get the rebate from onrebate.com anyway.

After weeks of calling and emailing onrebate.com and finally giving up, I actually received a check for my rebate. (I sure hope it doesn't bounce!) This rebate was applied for 9/9/06 and accepted 9/27/06 with the promise that a check would be sent within 8 to 10 weeks. The check for my rebate was finally cut on 2/13/07, exactly 19 weeks and 6 days after the rebate was approved and approx 10 to 12 weeks after I should have received it. I think I only received the check because they were tired of hearing from me.

I also contacted several agencies within the state of FL to file formal complaints against onrebate.com.

The Florida Attorney General's office suggested that I contact the following agencies with my complaints:

Do not in any way think you will be the lucky one that won't have any problems. I did everything right and still onrebate.com tried to get away with not sending a check. Had I not persisted, I believe that i would have never received anything from them. They are crooks and cannot be trusted! IT'S TOO BAD MOST PEOPLE ARE READING THIS AFTER THEY ARE SCREWED. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP TIGERDIRECT.COM AND ONREBATE.COM'S DECEPTIVE AND FRAUDULANT BUSINESS PRACTICES, IS TO PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS BY NOT PURCHASING FROM TIGERDIRECT.COM. No deal is worth this kind of trouble.
