Hi, my name is ''Anthony''. And on ''December 21st, 2013. I purchased a ''1999 Cadillac Deville'' from ''ORLANDO CAR DEPOT,LLC'' . And the sale's person, ''Ralph'' made me feel like I was buying a great vehicle. I did test drive the car and my mechanic came with me, and while we was still at the dealer's lot, we could not find any problems wrong with the vehicle. But within and hour of buying the car, I was on the highway heading to my house, and the car started to overheat and it shut down on the highway ; and that could have caused a major accident.

So, I immediatley contacted the dealer and informed him of the issue at hand, and he became very defensive and refused to take the vehicle back. And he said the vehicle was sold as-is and he would not be giving me my money back or exchanging the car for another. This is un-acceptable, and this dealer sold me a lemon. I only had the car literally for not even and hour, when it broke down on me. I got stuck with the car, and my mechanic had to change out the ''Heater Core'' and he had to replace the front and rear ''Rotor's & Brakes''. And I am still having problems with this car, a month later. Now I am being told that the car has a ''blown head gasket'', and that is a major repair.

I am broke, and tapped out of money and cannot afford to repair this vehicle any further. And the dealer knew this car had that head gasket problem, when he sold it to me ; and now I am stuck without a car ''1 Month'' later! ....... This guy is a shady business man, and I would not recommend that anyone purchase a vehicle from him! ....... And here is some added flavor to the mix ; ''I don't even have a ''title'' of ownership for this vehicle and it's been a whole month since I purchased it. So, I probably don't even legally own the vehicle !!!

First of all, the mechanic is someone that has worked on all of my car's for year's and is very much trusted. I have owned 6 other vehicles, and I have never had a problem like this before. So, no the mechanic did not rip me off. When you take a car for a test drive, some car's do not show engine problems right away. My house is, 50 minutes away from where the dealer was located. There was no leaks or lights on the dashboard and everything ran normal during the test drive. And the next thing is that, when the car overheated it cut off instantly. So, I was not even able to drive the car. I had a tow truck come and get the car on the highway. And the only reason why we found out it was a blown ''head gasket'' is because the car started smoking. Now if you know anything about ''Cadillac's'' or ''North Star Engines'', once y a head gasket blow's, that's it. You have to have the gasket's re-done or replace the whole engine ....... And the next thing, is that I signed a ''30 day'' money back guarantee, therefore he was bonded by law in the state of ''Florida'' to take the vehicle back ........ And upon doing some online research, and speaking to the ''BBB'' ; I discovered that several other people have had similar problems with this dealer, and the ''BBB'' has been investigating him for the last 3 year's ...... So, there is something seriously wrong as to why this guy is still in business ........ I could understand someone saying, I screwed myself on buying a car so old, if I purchased the vehicle from a private seller. But in the state of ''Florida'', when you buy a car from the ''Dealer'' he is governed by the 30 day, lemon law to take the vehicle back if any problems arise. And a lemon is classified as any vehicle, sold with mechanical problems that was not disclosed at the time of the sale, from the seller ......... And last but not least, technically the dealer is still the primary owner ; because I do not have a ''title'' of ownership for the ( Vessel / Motor Vehicle ) in my possession ........ And I did not post my report, for any kind of negative feedback. It was posted so that, consumer's would be cautious, when thinking about purchasing a vehicle from that dealer !

It seems to me that this mechanic you hired to check out the car is the one that screwed you.  Is this the same mechanic that made money fixing the problems afterward?

And the dealer knew this car had that head gasket problem, when he sold it to me"

You didn't post anything in your report as to how you would know this.  You did post something that would lead me to believe that the head gasket was damaged after you bought it.

"I was on the highway heading to my house, and the car started to overheat and it shut down on the highway "

When a car begins to overheat (indicated by the gauge or warning light) you need to stop.  If you continue driving it until it will not run anymore, you are likely to have damaged the head gasket or warped the head entirely.

Bottom line, the vehicle was sold as-is.   That means you (and your dubious mechanic) were satisfied with the condition of the vehicle and agreed that the seller is not responsible for any repairs after the sale.

If you bought the car AS-IS, that means any and ALL repairs are on you and it's NOT returnable.  You do realize this is a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD vehicle, don't you? It looks like you may have ripped yourself off. BTW, a "lemon vehicle" is usually defined as a NEW vehicle that has had the same repair attempted, unsuccessfully three times.  Yours would not qualify in any way for this definition.
