After doing the homework and even discussing and agreeing on the purchase with one dealer (at the sticker price). We stopped by Paragon Honda at Northern Blvd, Queens NY (STAY AWAY!!!!) to ask the following question:

If we were to purchase the car at the list price (we had a printout from Honda's website - $15,420), what would be the financing rate that you (Paragon Honda) can provide.

In retrospect I have to say that the environment that they created is perfect for the con operation they are running. They blast you with loud music, bombard you with moving images displayed on the monitors around the sales area, distract you in every possible way and they wore you down by taking tim. On the other hand they make sure that they smile at you and pretend that they are your best friends. I had my first $1200 cookie there! They even have you ring the bell when they get you to give them the money. One might say - you are old enough to see through it. Yes, we should have known better. When you are dealing with [violative contnent deleted], beware! But what can go wrong it is such a simple thing. We said - here is the price we are willing to pay, what is the financing rate that you can provide?

After about 6 hours they finally got the message (or so we thought) about what is the question we were asking, and said yes - we can do 5% financing. Throughout the whole 6 hours of the "process" the only person we actually talked to was a young, completely inexperienced salesperson, whom we felt bad for. Again in retrospect we were probably wrong. She knew what she was doing all along.. Finally we set down in the finance guy office, where instead of going through the numbers, we were subjected to sales pitch on lojacks, tire warranties and whatever else they have in their basket. We successfully resisted almost all of it and finally were free to go, with what we thought was the car purchased at the sticker price and 5.04% (or so) financing. Correction we had to come back some 2 hours later, to pick up the car that needed to be brought from other location. We picked up the car (one key was missing it took 2 weeks and hours on the phone to straighten it up the second key still does not open the rear gate). We left with the car and even the window sticker listing the price that we thought we paid. Three weeks later while reviewing the paperwork we realized that what we thought was the car price AFTER taxes, was a taxable price, which meant that we were taken for $1200+.

Just yesterday we met with the sales manager, the one that signed the "deal" - first time I saw the man. We reviewed the paperwork. Their folder seemed to have twice as many documents as ours. There was one document there that was signed by me with a bunch of numbers that we do not remember ever seeing, written with different ink colors, and not adding up to the price that we were actually charged. Another words mess and proof of deception. We do not have a copy of this paper and we were refused when we requested to be given one. Bottom line is - the manager seemed to have agreed with our point of view (he saw something in these papers that made him think, I do not know what it was - never got the papers). He went to his boss. The boss (General Manager - Darf Vader wannabe), came to us and said - yes we have a mess in our paperwork, yes, we have screwed up, yes, our sales people have proven to be incompetent, but we have your money now, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Please STAY AWAY FROM THEM and spread the word! I wonder if anyone else tried that yet and with what results. One thing I want to add. This is not about money never really was for me.
