***BIG TIME SCAM! BUYER BEWARE*** PRICELINE.COM STEELS YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY***

So, I went on priceline.com to book a hotel room for the first weekend of November 2009.  I tried the "name your own price" and just got rejected each time, even if I went to $1.00 below the origional booking price (aka: if the hotel was $104 a night, I tried $1.00 all the way to $103) it kept getting rejected even if I typed in $104.

So, I saw a link for a hotel in the city that I was traveling to for $64 a night.  Please Keep in mind, all over the website, they stated that if you needed to cancel your reservation, that you would get a full refund.  So, I booked the room, read through the terms and conditions and agreed to them.

So, I tried calling the customer service number on the website and talked to someone, and they said that I agreed to the terms and conditions that stated "If I need to cancel the reservations, I would not get a refund" even though NO WHERE in the terms and conditions did it state the aforementioned.

The person I spoke with said the only way they could give a full refund was if I, or a member of my family, was sick and in the hospital, but they would need to contact the hospital AND doctor to verify (setting aside that no hospital and or doctor in my area would give that information out without risk of loosing their license(s))...

If I had known they WOULD NOT honor their own policy plastered on their website, I would never have gone through Priceline.com....***PLEASE, DO NOT DEAL WITH OR GIVE MONEY TO PRICELINE.COM!!!THEY ARE A BIG TIME SCAM***

Situation resolved

AUTHOR: Chuck - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 03, 2009

I was able to contact the hotel I booked, see if they would give a refund and cancel my reservation, they said I had to contact priceline.com.

I did just that, called the customer service at priceline.com and spoke with a nice guy who put me on hold to call the hotel, he came back and said that I would be able to cancel the reservation and get a full refund.

Note to anyone using priceline, if you need to contact customer service, just stay calm and explain the situation and work together on a resolution to the problem.  I did that and was able to get a refund.

I will consider using priceline in the future based on the type of service I received today from the guy on the other end.
