I just read comments by a man in the Carolinas that had been duped by Prime TV... Well Prime TV and DirecTV got me, too.

I had made a call after choosing Direct tv to set up the install. Believing that I was speaking with a representative for DirecTV, I asked several times to make sure that local channnels for my area was included. I was informed by the woman that everything was fine and they would be a part of the package. While my installers were wrapping up the install, they had to make a call to DirecTV's 800 line, so they used my phone.

As "Joe" was getting set to leave, he gave me all of the information to get my $49 rebate. And again I also inquired about the local channels, to which he replied that I didn't have them because I had the wrong equipment and out the door he went leaving me speaking to a rep from P tv. This rep confirmed what the installer did that I was not going to get locals.. I immediately became irritated and told him to reach the installer and remove their equipment from my house. A call later confirmed that I did have the right equipment but locals were still not available.

After placing me on hold numerous times, the call finally was disconnected. I again began placing calls to Directv and was finally able to leave a voice mail explaining the problem-- a call that was never returned.

I have spoken with a couple of operators with Directv that said the locals were going to be "a couple of months". I negotiated a very small discount on my package to appease me. The couple of months have now turned out to be early 2004.

I have now sent four emails and mailed a hard copy of my letter to Directv. Although two of the emails have been acknowledged, nothing has been done. Directv claims ignorance when Prime tv is brought up.

J.D. Powers apparently awarded Directv for Customer Satisfaction... What a joke!! Both Directv and Prime tv hopefully will get the message by people reading these comments and no longer ordering their services.

Prime TV is not Direct TV, be careful.

The phone call that you made to set up your installation was thru the company Prime TV. Just like numerous other companies, Prime TV will lie (about your local channels), and miss-represent themselves (often answering the phone "Direct Tv, how can I help you") just to make a sale. After they do make a sale and install the equipment, that equipment becomes your property, no refunds. Prime tv is then free and clear, not needing to answer any complaints from you, or appologize for incorrect equipment being installed, sloppy installations, REFUNDS, or installer issue's. So who does the customer call next to complain?? Direct TV of course. Many of prime tv's customers call dtv to complain about installs, rebates, or rude installers, but guess what? Prime tv and Direct Tv are two totally seperate companies. All dtv can do is refer you to prime tv. You may be happy to learn that Direct Tv recently fired Prime Tv from doing dtv installations. This makes me very happy as a direct tv entertainment consultant. Next time, be absolutely positive that you are speaking with the company you intend on doing business with. Not a company looking for a quick sale.
