Progressive Auto Insurance Doubled my premium when an inexperienced driver who was speeding hit me in a parking lot and the police said it was a no fault accident. Internet

My auto insurance with Progressive went from $695 every 6 months to $1,165 after a woman who could not speak the english language hit me in a parking lot. Her husband had to come from the apartment to talk to the police officer who said it was a no fault accident and nobody would receive a ticket and nobody was really at fault. This woman in her 40's had only been driving in our country for a few months and even the husband spoke broken english.

Progressive raised my rates and paid the damage to her bumper of $1,300. I elected not to even get my car fixed. The officer clearly said that each should file with their own insurance. When I reported the incident to Progressive they jumped on it like a "fat kid on a cupcake" and paid the claim and sided with her. Now they have me listed in the data bank of having an accident that was my fault. I had no due process or recourse. They paid regardless of what I said. Now all insurance companies want to charge me more. I have been driving for 35 years with no accidents. I have not had a moving violation in over 20 years.

It is a scam. They paid the $1,300 only to hope I will keep insurance with them and make $950 or so the extra in premiums the first year and will not take it off my record for at least 3 years giving them the chance to make an additional $1,500 during the 3 year time frame.
