We hired Protax to reduce our property taxes. After talking with the assessors office today, the tax relief Protax claim on their  letter was not due to any contact by this company. Being in a distressed area, all property was reassessed by the city for the January June 2010 time frame. 

Their application dated June 1 has NOT been responded to according to assessors office.

Protax LLC claims the reduction (and thus payment)when it had nothing to do with their company.

Citys and counties makes these unilateral adjustments to all taxable property, Protax LLC start (1) asserting that their efforts caused or impacted this reduction, and (2) demand their - sizable - cut of your tax relief. Importantly, nowhere do these firms make any allowance in their contracts or fees, for the unilateral actions of the County, thereby twisting what could be a legitimate and useful service for society, into a scam.
