I ordered the Michael Thurmond Six Week Body Makeover from Provida Life Sciences and it was promply shipped. I didn't have the time required nor the food needed to start the diet immediately, so I waited a week until I got paid and also have the weekend to prepare the meals.

I tried the system for 6 weeks with no measurable results. I find the invoice for return instructions and called for an authorization number to return the product since it didn't work and they GUARANTEE the results or your MONEY BACK. They wouldn't give me a return authorization because I hade the product for 7 1/2 weeks.

When I tried to explain to them that I didn't start the program for a week following, they said too bad, you should have started it when you got it and they won't authorize me to send it back. Oh, yea, and they still bill my credit card monthly for the purchase. All they want is your money! They don't care about your results just so long as you don't want your money back! What a fraud!

#6 Consumer Suggestion

You could walk off all of your weight if you just got out of your SUV and did enough of it

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 06, 2005

Some people here recommended an exercise plan that included a treadmill.

Let me tell you something. That's the worst possible thing you could possibly do if you have been both obese and sedentary for some time.

Here's why. Consider an obese person. Cardiac arteries partially or almost completely occluded with plaque and buildup. Heart forced to work on only a minimal supply of blood. That's the initial condition of someone who is both obese and sedentary.

Now, what is going to happen if you put that person on a treadmill? You got it! Angina, followed shortly by the aching pain of oncoming infarction. If the atrial nodes are in the path of destruction, you can have arrhythmias and sudden death.

So much for jumping into sudden strenuous exercise, huh?

If your heart is all filled up with fat, you need to work yourself back in shape very gently. Very slowly. Allow the time for the cardiac arteries to slowly regain the ability to deliver sufficient blood flow again.

You need to start out slow and easy in the beginning. Walking is the way to go here. Slow easy walking.

Gradually step up your distance as you begin to feel more capable.

Naturally, diet modification and moderation is required too.

In addition, walking is the type of exercise that is sufficiently easy enough for most people to continue with long-term. Hard stuff like strenuous aerobic activities not only have the potential to kill you, but are also likely to be so demanding that people simply give up.

Look this up. Gentle walking at a comfortable pace provides almost as much calorie consumption as does running without any of the cardiac dangers or extreme exertion.

6WBMO

AUTHOR: Lori - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 05, 2005

I'm on the program, but unlike most other people I run across on the internet I don't feel the need to bash others that it isn't working out for. Not everyone's bodies are the same. What works for person A is not going to work for person B.

My doctor told me when I asked her opinion that I would be better off saving my money, not buying the program and just following the food pyramid guidelines. (Had already bought it, well half of it)

Don't let anybody get you down! I hope that you are successful in losing weight regardless of how you lose it!

Oh and by the way, yes although they do say that food is involved they do not let you know that it will be quite so much food. And said food can get expensive. It's the truth, so I don't see why everyone's always trying to hide it. It is something that a number of people need to consider before buying the program. But they can't, because most people don't know how much the food costs average.

Comment about surgery... you made a lot of sense

AUTHOR: Mary Clare - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 16, 2005

Diana--you made a lot of sense in your comments about the 6WBMO program. I am currently doing the program myself, and have to agree that when it is done correctly, it is very effective. However, I must take exception to your suggestion of surgery as a "quick fix" solution to those who are too lazy to follow the tenets of the program. I had surgery myself 3 years ago and it is anything but a "quick fix". There is a lot of strict criteria that must be present before someone is even a candidate for surgery, and even after surgery there are lifestyle modifications that must be made. So please don't write off weight loss surgery as a "quick fix" solution--it is anything but.

6 Week Body Wait Over

AUTHOR: Diana - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 08, 2005

In response to the above mentioned complaint about this program...I myself and many others in my family have tried this program...please note that this program is a life change and not just a diet to try for a few weeks...well when watching the advertisement for this program, it never at one point doesn't mention food...so obviously you'll have to plan ahead before receiving this product...

you'll of course have to change your eating habits and exercise regularly, AS WITH ANY DIET PROGRAM to see results...as far as your money back guarantee goes...

since I've completed the program successfully there's no need for me to get my money back, but lets be honest...If anyone's willing to pay $130 for a product, you'd at least do some research before purchasing it...

and by research I mean checking ahead to see if you need to purchase food(even though it was mentioned several times throughout the advertisement)and asking customer service questions about the program before purchasing the product...

As a final note....If you havent still successfully lost the weight you desire, I suggest getting surgery if you're too lazy to work out...I hear insurance covers that these days....

Oh my Gosh

AUTHOR: Nicole - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 30, 2004

First of all to Sylvia - I cannot believe you just admitted to God and the world that you commited credit card fraud. You said your card was STOLEN!? You made the purchase, the card company would have assisted you had you told the truth. Hope nobody finds out... Credit card fraud is a felony in most states.

Second to both of you - the only TRUE way to lose weight is diet - real diet that mean very little fat, extremely little sugar, moderate carbs, and veggies and fruit not McDonalds or pasta or beef all the time- and exercise five to six times a week - real exercise where you are breaking a sweat and breathing hard - for at least forty five minutes each time.

I suggest that you use a treadmill for 1/2 hr at a speed of at least 3.0 inclined to at least 2degrees, then do light wieghts (no more than ten pounds) lift them slowly (take about three seconds lifting them up three seconds putting them down) and breath in while lifting. Do this for 15-20 min.

If you follow your diet and exercise regime strictly you will lose weight.
However don't fall for diets that limit your food intake (if you only take in 1000 cals your body will only burn 1000cals.) or cut out a food group entirely you need a little of everything to be healthy.

Moderation is key. Also understand that some people need help to lose weight. If you try this for a month or so and you have NO results contact you doc, they might be able to prescribe something or run tests. Also remember that weight lose takes time. You may not lose 50 lbs in 3 days with this type of regime, but you are also less likely to gain the weight back and in the end, that's what matters.
I know all this because I was there, I tried everything, Atkins, starvation, LA, Southbeach, only when I did what I described above did the I actually lose the weight I needed to to make myself healthier.

Good Luck, I know it's hard. don't let others tell you what you need to look like or feel like -do it for you or do it for no one.

Provida con me

AUTHOR: Sylvia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 15, 2004

Provida refused to give the address and referral number to return the product I contacted them 3 weeks after receiving the product, the claim to refund up to six weeks. I called my credit card company and reported my card lost. I received an invoice from Provida requesting 99.00. They turn my account to collections.
