Pure Fitness Billed 3 months past contract Carlsbad, California

I signed a 12 month contract with Pure Fitness.  What they do not tell you is that it auto renews at 12 months unless physically go into the gym, sign a cancellation notice.  I called prior to the 12th month and said I would like to cancel my memebership.  "oh that's too bad, thanks for letting us know and we will cancel your membership". 

One month later I received a bill for the next months membership.  I called them again why to i have a bill, I canceled last month.   Pure Fitness " oh, no you should come it and sign a cancelation form"  I drove in and signed and signed the form and paid the bill.  The following month I recieve another bill for a months membership.  I called as asked what the heck was going on and they said "oh, well you signed to late so we automatically bill you an additional month.

The bill is now in collections....really.  I am sure I am not the only person this has happened to.  My wife works for the folks that took down Enron....anybody up for a class action suit?
