I was going to sign up for Quibids and attempt to purchase some Christmas items in an auction environment, hopefully saving some money. $60 later, I have a $10 gift card. Why? Because I didn't know I was being charged $60. I didn't realize it until the next day. After I saw the $60.00 charge on my bank account statement, I went back in and did some research. I started the process of registering another account without entering in any credit card information. I had to look carefully to see the $60 charge just for signing up. I'm not going to assert that they don't disclose the charge AT ALL, but I think any reasonable person should be able to look at the process and see that it is clearly designed to mislead people. So, for my $60 in "bids," I now have a $10 gift card. I'm more than willing to forfeit the gift card, which hasn't been shipped yet, and accept a refund, but Quibids is completely unreasonable regarding the matter. They claim that since I used the 100 $0.60 "bids," they can't refund my money. Essentially, they're running a giant online slot machine. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't - but you still pay. That is NOT an auction. I have very little confidence that anything fair will be done, but if nothing else, hopefully this complaint will prevent someone else from being taken advantage of as well.

We sincerely do apologize for any confusion you may have experienced on Quibids. However,on Quibids you will never be charged for anything without your consent.

Quibids is a pay-to-play system. Creating an account is free, but participating in auctions on the site is not. You first have to purchase bids in packages to use in the auctions. They are .60 a piece, and can be found in packages from 45 all the way up to 300 bids. After you have successfully purchased a bid package, you are free to bid in auctions on the site.

At any time, if you would like a refund on your unused bids, we would be happy to process you a refund. If you would like to contact us personally with any further questions, you can do so by phone at 1-855-QUIBIDS, or by email at support@quibids.com.

Sincerely,

Quibids Support
