Two months ago we decided to get wireless service since my husband drives 60 miles to work every day each way and we would like to call each other. I called QWEST.

When I talked to the salesman I specifically told him where my husband worked because we did not want to have roaming charges, and if there were we did not want the service.

I was assured that area was local and there were no roaming charges. After we got the phones we had to mail the one my husband was going to use back after a few days due to the phone not recharging again (One week). Another weeks worth of time passed.

We got the next phone, it had a problem, they were going to have a service person call us to fix it, another week went by, we did not hear from anyone, so we called back and told them we were sending the second phone back, and send another phone.

Before asking for another phone my husband asked them to look up where he works the area to make sure it is not a raoming area. They said no it is local ara. Another phone was sent to us.(more days time passed)

When I called my husband or he called me, however, there was roaming. I called them, talked to someone about the roaming, they looked it up, we were told off course there are roaming charges, that area is not covered.

Almost five weeks total time has gone by since we got the phones. I called back and asked to speak to a manager in customer service. Oh they had just went into a meeting and would call us back.

A few days went by and they did not call back. I called asked to speak to a manager again and then was told they did not call becuase I need to talk to billing regarding this and they are not going to be available until Monday, a few more days wasted.

I called billing on Monday, they can't do anything about the roaming, but I could talk to the "SAVE" group. I called, explained all of this to them.

Nothing they can do, it is past the return time/cancellation time so we are told we will have to pay $200 deactivation since we did not keep it for a year.

I explained they would have been returned within the first two weeks if we had been given appropriate information, if the phones were not defective, and I was told the only way the deactivation fee would be waved is if we lived on Indian Land or something to that affect.

They would be happy to switch to another plan that would cover some roaming time and would cost us more. I was so disgusted with their service.

Then on top of it they will not correct the billing for the returned phone ($199.00) for up three billing cycles. And they added a bunch of taxes onto it which means the $59.95 plan really is not a $59.99 plan, just add on at least another $20 a month.

And the $50.00 Visa that is promised, you will not get that for many months either.

We were trying to decide whether to cancel and just eat the $200 deactivation fee, in the meantime they suspended our service since I was not going to pay for the $199 phone that was returned.

Now I am waiting to see what kind of bill I am going to get.

Oh yeah, any paperwork recieved when phones were delivered did not have a date on them anywhere, so when I went to look at the paperwork to figure out the date recieved it is not there, and it was more than a month after we had originally signed up before we recieved informatoin explaining their plan and services.

My husband works at a nuclear site with more than 2500 employees, many of which use cellular services, and their family members use cellular services.

We will pass the word on to as many as we can to stay away from QWEST. This is the worst service I have gotten in my life. If I knew what to do I would consider getting a class action lawsuit going against them.
