Radco Refrigeration & Appliance, Inc. Lance (the alledged repairman) What aRip-Off, appears to be a fraud just to collect their trip fee!!!! New Port Richey, Pasco and Hernando Counties, Florida

10-08-10 a repairman from Radco came in attempt to repair the oven on our gas stove that did not heat.  First he called the company to get approval to work on a gas stove, he said he knew how but the company would have to give him permission. When I called for the repair I was not asked the make or type of stove I had.  The repairman (lance) and my husband pulled the stove out, lance used a needle to check some wires and and said he would have to go back to the office and check on parts.  He said it appeared to be an ignitor and that some companies will suggest replacing all ignitors instead of just one.

The repairman said he would call of the next day which was Saturday or Monday with a price.  He then asked for the "trip fee" of $79.95.  I asked about paying the fee prior to him fixing the stove and he said that the choice would be ours, if we elected to have him fix the stove after he gave us a price then the trip fee would be deducted and that if we chose to not have them fix the stove they would keep the trip fee.

I called last Thursday, 10-14-10 asked to speak to Lance, advised he wasn't in and a man reluctantly gave me his name as "Steve" said that they were still attempting to get a price for parts and that they would call me as soon as they could.  I left a message asking Lance call me the next day.  I also asked Steve to send me a refund if they could not find the parts.  He hung up on me.

This morning, 10-20-10 my husband called inquiring about our stove, they said they were having trouble getting parts from their supplier.  My husband asked if they could call another supplier or perhaps the manufacturer of our stove "maytag" and the man hung up on my husband.  It leads me to believe that this company is only interested in collecting the "trip fee" and has no intent to fix or repair a problem.  A copy of my receipt indicates that Lance did not even list the Manufacturer or type of stove, or a model number.
