Rau Builders Ray Rau, Raymond Rau, Jeanne Wells Rau RAU BUILDERS..COMPLETE CROOKS!! BEWARE!!!! New Braunfels Texas

Rau Builders,  Ray Rau (owner/builder) was really nice at first...When we put down our deposit and earnest money to begin new construction on our barndominium. He was excited to get started as were my husband and I. March 18, 2013: Day 1 we signed the contract and paid him $27k...then a few days later he called and expressed urgency for an additional payment for windows and doors: "because a guy he knew had them super cheap and doesn't know for how much longer"... so of course we overnighted 2 additional checks.

We met at the property (which was 6 hours away from where we lived)...met with Ray and his crew.. they framed and poured the concrete slab. Yay! We were so excited..seemed it was going to go quickly and we would be in our new barn do minium with the 4 months he estimated for a move in (business was slow at this time). 

After paying for all the metal framing, siding and concrete, we were able to choose the colors, etc...Mr. Rau told us that it would take 5 days to get the metal and 4 days to put it up, then we will start on the inside. 

Needless to say, that didn't happen. There was always an excuse as to why he and his crew couldn't come to the jobsite: "it's too far", "the guys don't want to drive that far", "I'm not making any money on your job", "I'm having marital problems", etc, etc.

Excuse after excuse...He started avoiding my husband's calls and texts...so I texted him from my cell phone (he didn't know my number at that time)...He answered right away...I told him if it's such a pain to complete our job, give us our deposit and earnest monies back, deliver the metal, doors and windows to us and we can go our own way. He said okay, and he would do the figures to see what he owed us. He did actually have one of workers bring out the metal but it was not complete...and his worker who had been so nice before was a complete a*s toward my husband and me.

We never heard back from him. I sent him a letter Certified Mail...apparently he got it but never responded. ..I sent the same letter to him via text, email, Company email, facebook message to him, as well as Rau builders...He definitely read it but never responded. 

Rau Builders Has Screwed Us Out Of 39 THOUSAND DOLLARS!! why is it that this guy can steal from people and never has to answer for it...He doesn't respond or acknowledge therefore it's okay??!!!

I am in Rocksprings Texas and can be found on Facebook with a simple search and message to discuss with anyone else who has had issues with this horrible scam artist. A class action suit should be filed against RAY RAU, JEANNE WELLS RAU and RAU BUILDERS...they are the quintessential crooks.
