If I had known then what I know now, I NEVER would have done business with RAC!  They basically take advantage of people in bad situations. But thank goodness there are other places to go when you're in urgent need of appliances, electronics or furniture.

Naturally the employees of RAC make it sound like renting to own is the best way to go but it's actually the WORST. It's much better to go to a store where there's a credit check because unlike RAC, those stores won't over charge nearly as much.

I wound up renting a washing machine from RAC for a year and a half. In that entire time, I wound up spending $1,600 on it. They charged $1,400-$1,700 for the very same machine that sells for $1,000 at regular stores.  After a year and a half I had enough of wasting money on RAC and didn't want to pay anymore especially since they make harassing phone calls to both customers and the references of customers even if you;'re just ONE day late!!!

When Steve showed up at my door last Wed and was dumb enough to peep through the window even though the door was open and anyone else could have told by the screen alone that we were home. He tried to demand $80 out of me that night and I refused. I thought about giving him $40 that night and the other $40 on Fri but he claimed that wouldn't be enough and I just really didn't want to waste anymore money on RAC since they overcharge anyway. So I told hiim to take the machine and he had the audacity to say they could hold it for me and I could pick up where I left off when I have the money. I told him that I didn't want it back and I was sick of them!

That same evening I phoned a store and asked about their delivery. The very next day, I went to a regular store, put the $80 RAC wanted as a down payment on a new machine in the color I prefer instead and it was delivered and installed the very next day!  Not only am I pleased to say that I'll have my new washing machine paid off within a year or less and that they're not over charging Me, but it also brings me great pleasure to say that the store manager informed me that RAC has been losing a LOT of business to them!  People are returning the items they had been renting and buying them instead!!!  And by making the purchase, they're also building their credit. And that's something RAC does NOT offer. It feels so good to receive paychecks KNOWING that none of my hard earned money will be going toward RAC!
