I purchased my first vechile from Rightway Automotive, a little over three months ago. First off i paid $8,000.00 for a vechile! Also I was charged 25% interest. Sure they gave me some good speal about how im really paying for their program, and my credit was going to skyrocket! Well 3 weeks after buying the vechile it started overheating, and shaking. I called up my sales consultant and asked who to take it to for my warrenty, she was new so she said just call around and see who excepts Zurich. So i did, and took it to a local mechanic. After 3 days and not hearing anything i stopped in to see what was going on. He said your vechile is all done, but your warrenty wouldnt cover any of the work. The vechile was fine for another couple weeks but then it really stared acting up. I called the dealer back again and said i need to know whom to take it to. They reffered me to the mechanic they use. I took it there and once again the work wouldn't be covered by my 6,000. mile warrenty. And the problems were exstensive. The radiator needed to be replaced, the undercarrige of the vechile needed to be lifted to fix all the oil leaks. there was five codes in the computer that weren't able to be diagnoised. As well as many other big problems. I called the dealer and after being pleasent the first two times and getting nowhere with them, she informed me they wouldn't do anything about it. I called a lawyer, he eventually got in touch with the regional manager who told me to take it back to the mechanic, AND HE WOULD HAVE IT FIXED. After three weeks of my vechile being in the shop, not one repair was made, and they informed me due to my neglegence they wouldn't fix it because i drove the vechile to much! Sure i put miles on the car, im a full time student, mom, and work full time. Thats why i needed a reliable car! So i had to purchase another vechile from a great dealer, and will now have to fight this in court. Rightway is not the right way to go! BEWARE!!!! I'm stuck with a $8,000.00 vechile worth $500.00!!!!!

I'm simply informing people of my situation and my views

AUTHOR: Maddashell - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 17, 2008

First off, let me just say i don't have to keep explaining myself, i was merely letting people know what happened to me, so they do not get caught in the unfortunate circumstances i did. But since your asking Fact or Fiction, everything i have stated is FACT!

When i found out how much my repair bill cost, there was no way i could pay it, and make the car payment, insurance, rent etc. Before i returned the car to Right way i went to a local dealership and was financed through them, I explained the circumstances and they understood. I then purchased my new truck, The day after i returned the van to the dealership. Like i have said in the past, i am glad that you have had positive experiences with right way, i am simply trying to inform people, so they do not make the same mistakes i did, this was my first time purchasing a car through a dealership, i went in blind, i wish i would have done more research, and understood that i could have taken it to a mechanic, and asked to see the certification, and also looked for other alternatives. Please don't try to make this seem as though i am trying to ruin a business, I do blame them, but i also blame myself for being so nieve. And i am not the only person that has a grievance with the company, there are other rip-off reports, articles on the web, etc. Now i know before making such a purchase from a company i know nothing about, I will do research.

P.S- Like i have stated before, i do not owe you an explanation, but since you have seen flaws in my witting i felt the need to clarify, for anyone that may read this. This is my last comment, all the FACTS have been stated.

Fact or Fiction...

AUTHOR: Dawson - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 16, 2008

If you read the original message you will realize I was not blasting you...I was referring to my own experience and opinion. I am curious though... your response to "What kind of car is it?" says one thing and your response to me says another. In one you said "Now I have a 9.9% auto loan, and drive a Dodge Durango". In the response to me you said "Rightway wrecked your credit". Which is it??? I know a lot about "credit" (I've worked in this line of work for over 13 years). A company cannot wreck your credit....you wreck your own credit when you don't pay your bills! THAT IS A FACT.

I have a very hard time believing Rightway didn't do what they could for you. I have dealt with the sales team and the manager. I've purchased two vehicles through that company. Did you pay $5,000.00 in repairs or is that what you thought repairs would be? Are you really giving us the facts...or is this just your way of trying to make a company look bad because you feel everyone "owes" you?

My initial response was to explain my experience....not to judge yours; however, the more you say the more you change stories. Hmmmmm Fact or Fiction??

Good luck to you.

Re: at what point do i own it all??? Get your facts straight!

AUTHOR: Maddashell - (U.S.A.)

First off, let me say this, i never complained about having to pay the 25% interest rate. I'm simply letting people know that facts, and as for the repairs, could you spend $5,000.00 on repairs for a vechile you just bought??? NO! and guess what i couldn't, while i was stuck with a broke down van, my mother had to drive me to and from school, to and from day care, to and from work, the grocery store etc.! I am young and they took advantage of me! It's great that you had a positive experiance with right way. I'm letting consumers know that i didn't. So they do not get stuck it a situation like mine, My credit is wrecked because of them! So for you to come on here and blast me, when you don't know all the facts, you might want to re-examine it.

It was a 1999 oldsmobile Shillouette, This was my first experiance buying a car, I dated a mechanic for seven years, and the car at first glance looked fine, i did not take it to a mechanic as they assured me it was certified pre-owned. As for my credit, i did not have bad credit just limited credit, after that happened i went out and bought a 2005 durango for much less, and my interest is only 9.9%.

At what point do you own it all???

AUTHOR: Dawson - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Well, I also went to Rightway Automotive; however, my experience was different. I look at it from a different perspective.

Interest Rate:
Due to the economy and a divorce, I found myself in a difficult situation. No matter how it happens at the end of the day.I did it to myself. I was in desperate need of a vehicle, so I went online and ended up getting a call from Rightway Automotive Credit. They explained the program and I went in knowing I was going to have to pay a high interest rate. I financed a 1997 van and paid it on time. After about 15 months; I called them back, went in and my credit score went up 124 points. They got me out of the 97 van, and into a 2006 van. At that point my interest rate went way down. Complaining about a high interest rate makes no sense especially when you are the one that put yourself in that position. Nobody owes me a low rate. I get what I have earned. So if you are paying a high interest rate...guess what you've earned it.

Repairs:
I was very lucky with my van; I did not have a lot of repairs done during the 15 months I owned the car. Rightway started me with a 6,000 mile or 6 month warranty. They also gave me 2 years worth of free oil changes. I worked for a local dealership, and they never did that for their customers! I did have a few issues with the van; if it wasn't covered under the warranty guess what I paid for them. At what point does the vehicle become your responsibility? Most dealerships relinquish responsibility the moment you drive off the lot. I work with someone that also purchased a vehicle from Rightway. He had a few problems with his SUV, but the manager from Rightway took good care of him. She made sure all of his repairs were taken care of. With that being said I don't know how that is a rip-off? They went above and beyond his expectations. He refers people there all the time, and brags to me about how he should work for Rightway because they send him checks every other week for his referrals. When you buy a used vehicle it's probable you will have repairs, it is your responsibility. Take the vehicle to your own mechanic before you buy it.

To sum it all up if you pay a high interest rate you did it to yourself. Nobody owes you anything. When you buy a used vehicle you take a chance. You own it, so it is your responsibility to take care of it. I am grateful that Rightway took a chance on me. Thanks to Rightway I have re-established my credit rating and own a great vehicle!!!!

What kind of car was it?

AUTHOR: Terri - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 13, 2007

What kind of car did you purchase and did you take the car to your mechanic? It is your right to take any car to the mechanic of your choice before you purchase the car. As for the outrageous interest rate one would have to assume that your credit is not the greatest. I work for a car dealer and the only time I see that much in interest is when the customer does not have very good credit.
