Can someone explain to me why the leads NAA sells to their producers do not have the date of when the homeowners filled out the lead and mail it in? I question how old the "A" leads are when disbursed by the managers due to my calling of several 'A" leads, and many of the individuals on the lead have no idea what I am calling about, even after going through the phone script and explaining the purpose of the call. Why is there not a line for when the lead is filled out? Anyone ever bounce that off of Andy Albright, guru of lead production. I have sent him many e-mails, and of course have not received any reponse back (go figure)? And I have been told quite a few times that the closing date of the lead (when recorded in the local courthouse) is not correct either.

But the date the is filled out is no where to be found. WHY?? Why is it not on the lead mailed back so the agent can see REALLY how long ago the lead was filled out....especially with "A" leads.

Good and Bad

AUTHOR: Craig - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 15, 2008

I have read all the reports good and bad about NAA and find that most of the complaints are not very factual.

I am not going to say NAA is perfect, but then neither is any company. If you ever searched for a report on major companies that have been around for years, you will find they too had problems starting out.

NAA is a young company and since I have been with them (June 2007) I have noticed they recognize legitimate problems and do their best to fix them.

I agree that their are some problems, but problems don't always mean you are being ripped off. You have to look at the whole picture and ask yourself based on my industry and the trends could this happen else where? It's funny to hear the stories about the early days with NAA, and Andy, Philip and Baryy talked of the problems. They say there are still problems and will have problems, but as long as they iron them out the company, like any company, will grow.

The answer is yes! I too have called on leads that were sold by another NAA agent, but I have always received credit for that lead on my next order. There may have been a problem in the past, but they have fixed it now.

As far as Andy's background, he tells everybody where he's been previous, but it doesn't make a difference if he is doing something successful for agents and families. If we are going to condem people for their past, then we are guilty of something. Just because you don't like what someone did in their past doesn't mean they did anything wrong.

As for the managers, hell folks I was a cop for six years, and believe me we had some bad characters out their that should have not been in uniform. Does that make all cops bad? NO! In other words you are going to have bad sorts no matter what industry you are in. Because of the way NAA runs thier organization a bad manager shouldn't stop you from beng succesful. NAA gives you the resources to continue without the manager killing your business. If your manager was taking money from your account you MAY have been scammed by the manager becuase NAA is the only person taking from my account.

LEADS: Most agents have to pay for leads. I know there are companies where they don't and that is fine. If you don't want to pay for leads, then find a company that gives them away free. All companies run there organizations differently, and that is their choice. I won't criticize them for that. In America if you don't like something you have the freedom to leave. Enough said on leads.

On the non-med policies there is a time and place for them. Every instance is for non-med, but I agree that if there is something in their file they are unaware of they could get declined, and then they have to wait for 2 years before some companies will look at them. I tell my clients to go non-med first get approved, then we can go for an underwritten next. In this case if they are turned down, at least they have coverage that can't be taken away. If they are aproved then they cancel the non-med.

I had a 26 year old young lady who was declined, not because she lied, but becuase of the doctor's APS was written incorrectly. So now I immediately tell folks to order their MIB so we can at least look at what's on file. If their is something that needs to be addressed, we can do it while the under writers are looking at the application. So if you are truly looking out for the client, listen and pay attention to thier situation before you decide. If the insurance companies didn't realize that a person could slide in under the radar, then they wouldn't offer non-med policies.

As for the number of companies NAA has under their roof, you work with what you have. Some agents can only sell one companies products, does that make that company's plans a farce.

Bottom line is folks spend you energy being successful. Work the leads you have and speak with passion and truth. I gaurantee your heart will only let you do what is right. No one company can offer everything, but if you keep the cost down and meet the family's needs, you have done your job.

I welcome all rebuttals, but please no silly comments or illigitimate statements. This forum can also be used to help other agents. So remember we do not live in a perfect world, but our actions, thoughts, and words can add to the the confusion.

Does it matter?

AUTHOR: Naa4life - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 19, 2007

Does it really matter how old the lead is? If the customer has not taken care of their mortgage protection yet, who cares how old the lead is. That's just one more family that needs your help! In all my years of doing this with NAA, nobody has ever said I sent this in 2 months ago and since you didn't call, I don't care about protecting my family anymore! Stop thinking and start caring!

LEAD PROGRAMS

AUTHOR: Excaptive - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 18, 2007

I don't work for NAA, but I do work for a large company as a captive - for now.
I've bought leads from companies before that are cold - frigid cold.
People have filed some kind of questionaire and most likely forgot about it.
I've had zero success buying leads from my own company and from outside agencies. I've been to the courthouse to pull records of families with recent births.
You need to understand the DNC compliance rules - you can't just go get a name and start calling and pitching the sale. If you do that - you will be fined.
I've done the direct mailers, the billboards, the web pages, telemarketing companies, etc. All this has done for me is learn not what to do at a high cost.
It seems NAA has a system that works (not for everyone), but I would rather pay for system with leads, training, and takes care of all the direct mailers that to be captive to company that provides none of the above.
All the money and time I've spent prospecting seems to be taken care of by NAA and closes that ratio of 80% prospecting/20% closing to where people are getting what they need and agents are able to support their families.

AUTHOR: Astounded - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 03, 2007

John,

Can you back up your statement that MGA's pay an additional lead cost above that which the agents underneath them pay? I find it very odd that my MGA never once mentioned that he was paying $11 more for the leads he sent me for free after I informed him I was finished. He's the sarcastic, snippy type so I am certain he would have had something to say to me if your statement was true.

Get the facts straight!

Richard, what you failed to mention is that for every lead that an upline manager gives you he has to pay an additional $11 on top of what you pay. So why would a manager give you a crappy lead stack of leads and pay over $100 in override lead cost for each of his agents if they couldn't sell anything off of them? HMMMMMM, it doesn't sound too profitable for the manager does it?

Also there are thousands of agents with NAA making it work, notice I said agents not just managers. Not to mention your extremely foolish comment about making 140% with other companies. Every agent starts on a 55 or 60% contract and you move right up the line every 2 months, but we don't move you up if you don't work.

So take your bad attitude and have fun cold calling and prospecting or in other words just wasting your time with those other companies.

national agents ALLIANCE???

AUTHOR: Richard - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 26, 2006

NAA touts a six figure income using their "special" leads or selling system. Truth be told, they're focused on only one thing: hiring scores of reps pay a paltry 50 or 60% commissions and make you feel like they're doing you a favor while your immediate up-line robs you by pocketing the difference!!! Wake up FOLKS !!!

2nd tier Life Insurance Companies like F&G, Shenandoah, Chesapeake, Mutual of Omaha pay their marketing organizations 140% - 150% of the first years commissions. NAA (national agents alliance) pays their agents 50% - 60%. Do the MATH!!! Who's getting rich here!!! NAA is a RIPOFF. You can easily contract with these same life insurers at 100% - 110%, purchase your leads buy using the same source as NAA (public record, milissa data etc.) and keep all of the commissions for yourself!!!

So the next time you view an ad by National Agents Alliance (most likely plagiarized) or any ad that does not offer at least 100% commissions, FLAG IT !!!!!

And to add insult to injury,

There is a major problem with the way NAA distributes leads to agents who purchase them. Even though an agent buys the leads from NAA and pays for it by electronic draft on the agent's checking account, ALL LEADS BOUGHT ARE SENT TO THE GENERAL MANAGER where the potential for ABUSE is prevalent.

EXAMPLE: A general manager has 3 agents under him, and he orders 40 leads, 10 for him, and 30 for his 3 agents at $20 a piece, NAA SENDS THE MANAGER ALL 40 leads. What prevents this manager from calling all 40 leads and setting his appointments for the week? Then, distribute the rest to his agents?--THIS IS FRAUD.

Calling 40 leads is very different from calling 10 leads. When calling 40 leads the manager can easily set up 8 or 9 appointments for himself. He can then buy the leads he sets appointment with, and redistribute the rest to his agents. And there is a strong motivation for him to do this, as these managers compete amongst themselves and there is tremendous pressure for them to produce and set an example to their agents.

Use your head folks, stop allowing this NAA FRAUD to continue, there are plenty of marketing organizations that will pay 100% 1st year commissions and arrange for your leads to come directly to your PO Box from the consumer. No middle man to interfere with your livelihood.
