2 young men in their early 20's [one named Devon Faglia from Carlsbad, CA near San Diego] solicited magazine subscription at my door this evening for gifts to Overseas Armed Forces . . . I game them a check for $45 [eg., $35 = $10 processing] & received Rockstar Subscription Agency receipt. Besides subscription Devon noted he would receive ~$5-$10 credit plus receive points towards an awarded vacation package this summer.  Seemed as if legitimate but unsure . . .I will monitor but I am looking for further current feedback??

I Have Already Talked To You!!!

AUTHOR: Star - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 15, 2013

You have emailed me as soon as my agents left your house. You were given my personal cell phone number to contact me and ask me questions. So you go on here an write, okay let me tell you once again since you did not understand my assistants emails. I will make sure to be very thorough!!

First off there was a very nice customer right below you who was in the military stated the website where we do find address's to send to, they will take care packages too but we just send them magazines. On this website it will also tell you what kind of magazines they will like, they change every month. I have also contacted the USO and have requested address's straight from the USO that they have for deployed soldiers. We actually send out the magazines that is why your email was answered right away. Because someone is sitting behind a desk clearing all those orders and answering emails as soon as they come in.

Second if this was a fake or fruadulent business: I would not be paying someone to answer your emails, I would not be sending people refunds, I would not be sending magazines, I would not have a running website (that I have paid for), and I would not have an A- with the BBB.  (Yes I am not accredited yet, but the BBB has contacted me and the process has begun for my accreditation. Even without an accreditation they still rate you regardless.)

I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OPEN FOR 3 YEARS WITH AN A- BBB RATING IF I WAS A SCAM!

I ALSO GOT AUDITED LAST YEAR AND PASSED IT! I would not be able to do that if I was a scam, RIGHT?!!!

The people who have complained on here are people who could not find my email or website first. Everyone I have talked to has been paid back. Everyone one here has been taken care of, either got refunded or had the magazine sent to them. And how on earth can people say I do not send out the magazines to the military if I got audited specifically for that purpose and passed?

Also the every first email that has been put on rip off report about my company saying they did not recieve their magazine was from when I first opened up my company and was clearing my magazines through a different company (notice it says Winnie Texas, my company is from Gloversville New York. Check your reciepts) found that report and immediately got my contract to the clearing house that I am going through now.

So please if you have a problem go to my website Rockstarsubscriptions.com (at the bottom of the page you will see a BBB button, go ahead and click on it) and fill out the 'Contact Us' page and my assistant who sits by a computer WILL answer your emails right away!  Thank you guys who do help out!!

" Devon noted he would receive ~$5-$10 credit plus receive points towards an awarded vacation package this summer. "

Funny.   That is the pitch used by magazine scams in a 1968 episode of Dragnet.   Some things never change.

As a general rule, I make charitable contributions to licensed 501c(3) charitable organizations.

Giving money to for-profit organizations or random strangers that ring your doorbell, rarely result in much or any benefit to those you intended to help.

If your intention is to give money away to door to door salesmen, then your on the right track.   If you really wanted to help the troops overseas, your check would be put to much better use by sending it to a real charitable organization that specializes in such things, like the USO and others.
