I started the get your CDL program in Conley Ga on April 16, 2018 and agreed that if I quit before my contract expires that I would be charged the full amount of the program. On April 25, 2018, I was advised that I was not keeping up to the speed of the program and that a call was in to the Manager of the program and I may be terminated. On April 26, 2018, I was called into a conference call with a supervisor that O only recall his name being "Kevin” on video conference as he was located in the main office in Marshfield, WI. He advised me that I was being terminated from the Get your CDL program and that my pay would be forfeited for the time that I had worked. I asked why and his reply was, "well, I don’t want to charge you for the cost of the program, so this way you won’t owe anything.” I agreed, turned in my badge and was on my way.

In June 2018, I received a phone call from a gentlemen explaining that I owed money for the cost of the program. I explained to him what I just explained above and his reply was, "he doesn’t have the authority to not charge you for the program!” Lo and behold, I receive an email alert today, August 3, 2018 that I have a derogatory mark on my credit report, so I check my report and I now have a Collection reported on my credit from Lockhart, Morris, and Montgomery for $7775 for Roehl Transport!! I am well above angry, frustrated and feel betrayed by these people. I do not have money hence why I attempted to go to school for free and to be told that I wouldn’t be charged due to being let go from the program and to be charged $7775!!! That is absurd!! I didn’t leave the program voluntarily, I was involuntarily terminated unjustly at that; but that’s another story for another time!!! I feel like I’m being bullied and I don’t have the money to hire an attorney as this is unwarranted!

If you are reading this, I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM ROEHL GET YOUR CDL PROGRAM!! I believe they are a good company with a great reputation and safe driving practices; but this is fraud what they are doing to people! If anyone has any suggestions, please respond! I need assistance with getting this taken away!

You Have A REAL Big Problem

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, August 03, 2018

Yeah, I can see why you got a collection call.  Not only is the company going to say that this person in HQ had no authority, the company didn't put anything he said in writing.  When you signed up, you probably havd to complete a number of forms that you signed your name to, including the provision that you are liable for the tuition if you quit the program.  The fact you left the program without signing one piece of paper indicating you were being dropped from the program, would indicate you quit - not forced out.  The promise he made to you, without it being in writing, can't be enforced.

On top of everything else, you don't even have the full name of the person who made this promise.  Now if you did know his full name, do you think he would remember you 4 months later?  Maybe.  Maybe he could put something in writing for you that you could present.  Or he could say he doesn't remember you.  But since you don't even know his name....man you have a huge problem.

Normally, I would say go hire a lawyer who might take your case on a contingency, but the best situation for you is that you end up owing nothing.  Which means the lawyer gets nothing, and lawyers don't work for free.

I was involuntarily terminated unjustly at that; but that’s another story for another time!!! I feel like I’m being bullied and I don’t have the money to hire an attorney as this is unwarranted!  Man, are you in the wrong field.  Whether you drive a truck locally for an employer, or you're an OTR driver with your own rig pulling a trailer, you will experience bullying, rude talk, a few brawls, and a whole lot of dirty jokes that would constitute harassment anywhere else.  If you're seriously going to start complaining now about being bullied, just imagine telling a driver you're being bullied at a T/A stop.  Those drivers, especially the women, will eat you for breakfast and there's not much you can do about it.

If you're not working, it's time to go find the person you spoke to at the company and secure his promise to not charge you for the tuition in writing.  If you don't do that, then this debt is going to follow you everywhere.  Best of luck.
