ROYAL SUNSET TIME SHARE SCAMM SUNSET GROUP!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!
After a tough semester I felt as if I needed a vacation, out of the blue a marketing company called me saying that it was a Rogers promotion (M4Sunset) to Cancun it seemed to be okay at the time so I purchased two vacations with the company. After that I booked my flight and reservations, which totaled well over $2000 for two. So everything was fine so when I arrive in Cancun I am taken to a hotel named the Ocean Spa Hotel.
When I purchased this package I was told this hotel would be a 5 star resort, this hotel was probably a 2.5 at most. Then I had to take part in a 90 minute presentation, which actually took around 4 hours. In this presentation I was shown all the resorts and taken for breakfast. I informed the man I had no intention in buying but he still pushed me into a room at the end and fed me drinks and offers.
The reason I even listened to their offer was for the single fact that it was and investment. I do not plan on traveling to Cancun once every year I was going to rent the studio out to people for the vacation weeks that was given in my package. From what I was told I would be able to rent the condo out for 4 vacation weeks and if I could charge around $250 USD a night. That would total $1750 USD per week totaling $7000 per year. In a matter of 2 years I would have paid off the studio and would already be turning a profit.
So I purchased it, really bad mistake. When I returned to my hotel that night I started reading the contract and instantly felt as if something wasnt right and it bothered me. So I tried to relax for the next couple days. On Jan 13/2010 I had had enough and decided I did not want this contract or timeshare so I went to the initial place of the signing and told them I did not want it. On the original contract it states the contract may be terminated with a letter to the sunset groups domicile or the place of the original signing within 5 business days. So I went there with a hand written letter containing my signature and told them I wanted to terminate my contract. I was then informed I was unable to cancel due to my studio being special inventory. They pulled out a form which I had signed saying that it waives my right to cancel which I later found out was an illegal form under Mexican law.
I asked for a copy of it and they refused a numerous amount of times. So I then returned home to Calgary where I did a internet search of the company and what I found was the The Sunset Group is one of the worst timeshare scam companies in Mexico. Immediately I called Visa and changed my credit card number. I spent most my time figuring out how I can get this contract canceled. I sent out emails stating that I am terminating my contract. To every sunset group member I could find including Mr. Hector Tornell who handles their legal department. I tried calling several times but I just kept getting the run around. Right away I sent a cancellation letter to the Cancun domicile via UPS. I have informed Profeco of this matter in hopes that they can help. I did all of this within the allotted 5 business days, and still I have heard nothing back from this scam company so I believe that they have no intention of cancelling or returning any of my funds. Currently VISA is trying to dispute the matter. I am hoping for the best if anyone has any insight on the matter please help. SUNSET GROUP IS SCAM.
SUNSET GROUP IS A SCAM STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

It is always best to hire someone skilled to do so, unfortunately in most cases these companies dedicated to cancel timeshares usually cheat for the second time to their customers since they are vulnerable and desperate. If you are thinking of hiring them you just have to make sure you do not have to make any payment upfront. I found this article that speak precisely about this, you should read it, that might help you to resolve many doubts:
