My husband and I signed on with Safetouch Security when we bought our first house as it was already wired for the security system. Two years into the contract my husband, who is in the military left for a 6 month deployment. I lapsed on 2 payments while keeping up with all of the bills and they called with threats. I called to resolve and bring everything up to date. Months later they called again with threats from a law firm out of Illinois. At this point I started getting very irate. After several phone calls to them it was finally determined that they were actually harrassing the wrong person and had us mistaken with someone else. I was angry enough at this point to ask when our contract was up and that I was not happy and wanted to end it. They told me I was contracted through April and so I decided to wait patiently until then and nothing more was brought up. April passed and I heard nothing from them.

After a few months I got ANOTHER letter from an attorney saying we owed approx. $933 for the entire system! When I called they said that I was automatically renewed and that now since I was not paying that they wanted me to pay for the entire system. Now let me say that it was not communicated to me that I would be "automatically renewed" and when I last spoke to them (their customer service) it was clear that I did not want to renew...however I was not informed at that time!! Nothing was said!!! It was quite clear to me that they are operating through very deceptive tactics. They only tell me that quote "it is in your contract"....so I ask them to mail me a copy of my contract....It is six months later and still no copy of my contract. Still getting threatening letters from this god-awful make-shift attorney who has nothing better to do than send threatening letters. This is the worst company I've dealt with....I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM!!!!! IF this is the way Mr Lester Jackson has to make money, then I truly feel sorry for hiM!!!

Safetouch Contract hassles

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 28, 2007

Didn't the installer leave a contract with you?? Should be in your documentation somewhere.

Even though you verbally told them you wanted to cancel you should have followed up with a letter sent certified mail with return receipt requested and attached the return receipt to your copy of the letter.

Thanks,

Steve R.
