I won a bid off E-bay from this car dealership for $16,000. They stated in their auction that they wanted payment in 3 days. However, I was having some trouble with my bank (with the auto loan) because they would not recognize my power of attorney my husband who is in Iraq gave me. I had to wait till my husband sent me a new power of attorney overnight from Iraq so that I can pick up the cashiers check from my bank. I had explained all this to Marc Howard (I guess the owner). At first, he was understanding and wanted a $5,000 deposit to hold the vehicle which was a 2004 Mercedes E500. I told him that I could not do that much and we agreed on $2,000. After that was settled they insisted that the funds be wired directly into their bank account. So I did. Meanwhile, I got the power of attorney and was going to send the cashiers check to them and he once again, he insisted on having the funds wired to them. I told him that my bank doesn't do that and I would send the check overnight. Marc agreed and then gave me a different address than the dealerships to send the check to. He said it was their accounting firms address. So, I sent the check off and that night there was negative feedback left by another E-bayer stating there is no such dealership in San Diego. I began to research the address and call around to some local businesses and they said the place was shut down by DMV for illegal activity. I then researched the address of the "so called" accounting firm address. It was a Postal Annex. I have tried to contact Marc for my money back and still no response. I haved tried to contact DMV to find out about this dealership and no help. I have tried contacting the Better Business Bureau and no help there because there is no physical address for these scam artists. Help!! We are a military family with a limited amount of income for me to go and get an attorney. I need help from someone to put an end to this dealership! They really need to be stopped.
