I was an employee for SCBN for about a year. In the beginning, I felt I was doing great advocacy work. I thought I was helping individuals by processing their paper work and assisting with maintaining enrollment with the various pharmaceutical companies that were being applied to. The longer I worked there, the more my own morals were questioned. The first red flag was the price that people are charged to sign up. Keep in mind, the pharmaceutical companies being applied to offer free medicatation for those who qualify. SCBN will charge you $35.00 a month to be part of the service and an additional $25.00 for each medication on your account. They also do not offer a refund - no matter what. It's not that they can't, they just choose not to. The second red flag was how the office in general was run. The "managers" did nothing all day but gossip and surf the web. There are two departments. The customer service side and the side that processes forms. The right hand had no idea what the left was doing. Customer Service has no clue about how the serive oporates. Being in the forms department, I can tell you how extremely frustrated we were when we had to realy information to them. We could not trust them to tell our member what they neeeded to know. The most frustrating part came at the end when I decided it was time for me to get out and change jobs. As soon as I mentioned that I was looking for a new job, I was given an ultamtum: I could finish the week (of course, so I could do more work) or that day would be my last day. Needless to say, I chose the latter.

Do not work with this company. They are a total ripoff and do not have anyone's best interest, including their own employees, in mind.
