We purchased a jeep for our son on March 14th 2011 via cashiers check 5,900. My son drove the car and within minutes the car begins to run hot. We call the car lot the so called mechanic comes and follows us  back to the lot. He says he 'thinks' its the temperature gage yeah right no clue). Well 2 hours later the car is still not ready/still running hot. They suggest we leave it over night and offered another car for the night. We refused. We leave the car. My wife and I decided (within 20 minutes)that we no longer want the car and request our money back. After calling the incompetent finance manager he agrees. My wife and son get there(its a whole different story) they are ignored and receive the run around. The incompetent finance manager said that he had our check in his pocket but refuse to give it to my wife because she had a  bad attitude. Yeah it got real ugly. The cops were called and a police report was filed. They refused to give me my money back. Their excuse was my wife and son had a bad attitude. Well excuse us for being human(are you serious). We have reported them to the BBB, the State of Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission and delivered a letter of termination. We are preparing to sue if this is not resolved in 3 days. This company is bad business. The owner Clark Crain and his loser staff will be exposed for the fraudulent business practice.  We didn't even have the car for 6 hours. The fight will continue until we recieve our money . I will not stop until every consumer, the city of Zachary, and surrounding areas know about this fraudulent  Lemon dealership/Signature Autoplex that has no means of putting the customer

Poor Business Ethic

AUTHOR: Dee - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Mr. Moore stated in his response that the vehicle DID SUFFER FROM A MECHANICAL ISSUE. When we initially put the deposit down on the vehicle on MARCH 12, 2011, Mr. Dangerfield did NOT disclose that the vehicle had ANY mechanical issue. If that were the case, we would not have went forward. We told Mr. Dangerfield that we were looking for a DEPENDABLE vehicle for our 19 year old son to use for school. He assured us that the Jeep was in great condition, and that YOU ALL WOULD NOT SELL A VEHICLE THAT WAS NOT UP TO PAR. This was a LIE, and you all were NOT present when Mr. Dangerfield showed us the vehicle.

As a consumer, you have to look at the situation from our perspective. NO ONE would be upset with someone giving their money back. You all claim that you planned to refund us, but you truly had no intention. Just like you had absolutely no intention of disclosing the vehicle's mechanical issues.

Mr. Moore said, "I have your check right here in my pocket, but I'm not going to give it to your because you have a nasty attitude." I don't think ANYONE (including yourself) would be pleased with someone holding your hard earned money over your head.

But, the bottom line still stands. WE WERE NOT REFUNDED AS BOTH OF YOU HAVE STATED AS YOUR INTENTION. Regardless of the high emotions and words exchanged between BOTH parties, BUSINESS IS STILL BUSINESS. You all want to continue to shed light on my wife and son's frustration, but no one wants to take responsibility for how you all conducted business as a company. That is pathetic.

Couldn't Be Further From The Truth

AUTHOR: Certified Motors - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 21, 2011

I am the Used Car Manager at the Dealership in which this compliant was filed against and was there through the entire transaction. There are bits and pieces of this report that is true and the rest is not factual by any means. We did in fact sell them a 1999 Jeep on March 14, 2011 and yes their son did drive it away and 30 minutes later called and said it was overheating. We did send our onsite mechanic down to investigate the situation and we did attempt at that time to replace the thermostat to see if that fixed the problem. This did not fix the issue so instead of sending them down the road in nothing we offered to put them in a loaner until we could get the issue fixed. At that time they refused and stated to call them once it was ready never giving any indication they were unhappy. This is pretty much were this report stops being factual and starts becoming a lie in an attempt to cover up their actions and display they put on for a few hours at our place of business. The mother of the customer, who no one had ever talked to or had seen, called forcefully demanding a refund out of the blue. I spoke to this lady, which infact was not a lady by definition of the word which I found out later, I let this lady know that if they were not happy with the purchase that they were more than welcome to come back and we would issue them a refund on the purchase. Within approximately 1 hour Mom and Son arrived at our dealership. When they showed up the mom proceeded to take a chair out of one of our sells offices and place it in the middle of our busy showroom facing the Finance Office Door as in some form of intimidation. Up to this point no one had given these customers any reason to have the attitude in which they came in our office with. I saw this stance from the mother and son and proceeded to the Finance Office to let it be know that we they had arrived and we needed to get them a check cut ASAP so they could go about their business. As I exited the Finance Office and proceeded out the front door of the Showroom I heard the Mother state to her son who was on the phone and I quote " These Motherf**kers Should have been had my s**t ready!" . At this time I remind you  we have families in our showroom with small kids walking around and she decides to spit that wordage out. Thats when I stopped and turned around and let her know that the Finance Manager was very busy and I had just told him that they had arrived, this is when she decide to tell me "To mind my own f**king Business that she wasn't Talking to me!"At this time the Finance Manager was actually coming out of his office to hand her the check so they could leave. After the use of wordage from this mother we at that time asked her and her son to leave the property immediately. They left the building and proceeded to throw other slang words out of their mouth as they were getting into their truck. Once in their truck they did not leave they stayed put and we went back inside and conducted business as usually. This is when the story really gets crazy. The owner's wife which works from time to time in our Accounting Office stepped out on the front porch and thats when all hell broke loose, the son and mother jumped out of the truck and proceeded to threated her with more slang and threats of physical harm. I was in my office at the time this was occurring and could hear all of it going on my Finance Manager proceeded outside to oversee thing and he stated to me to call the police. When the police arrived the customers still refused to leave the police asked us what we would like to do so we filed a report and requested that the Son apologize for his verbal threats to the owner's wife which had nothing to do with what was going on at the time. We sent the vehicle off to be fixed that day and have since had running with no problem. This is an account of what actually happened. We try to conduct business in a good moral way, but sometimes you do have vehicles that sit for a while undriven and things sometime break from non use but if this occurs we try to make them right and while I have been Manager we have never told someone we would not make it right.

The Way It Is

AUTHOR: Dee - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Thanks alot for the support! That's really all we're saying. Its not rocket science. Its just common sense! There's nothing difficult about it. All of this could have been resolved by simply refunding the money. He even SAID they planned to, but never did. Whats the point?? There is none! The world we live in. (SMH) The Winner In Me

Thanking You in Advance...

AUTHOR: Dee - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Thank you for your response. You admitted that the vehicle did have mechanical issues, and that our funds were suppose to be refunded. I'm sure this will only make the legal aspects much easier to verify. Also, you all did not decide to make anything a legal issue. We obtained the police report, and pushed legal actions. (The police report also does not say anything that you stated in your complaint even though YOU ALL contacted them.) As far as my son is concerned, when the owner's wife walked outside and verbally attacked my wife while on the phone with her husband, that's when he responded. My son responded in defense of his mother. That was the only reason for his response. In order to get respect, you have to give it. But, at the end of the day, this not a personal issue. Its business, and you all did not conduct accordingly.

Give back the money and check cars before you sell them

AUTHOR: voiceofreason - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 15, 2011

For cripe sake, give them back the money and check your cars thoroughly before you sell them. No excuse to put anyone in a vehicle with obvious issues that manifest within minutes of driving off your lot, as is, or no as is. They acted like dicks? Don't sell garbage and you won't have to deal afterward with dicks. At least indicate in writing what likely needs to be done on the vehicle if you don't feel like fixing it before a sale. This is why everyone who runs into an issue is ready to spit blood at car dealers the second anything goes wrong, even if you probably intended to do right by them before they blew up. Right or wrong, by standing on ceremony now, you're more likely to lose far more than 5 grand worth of business than any hurt you're putting on these folks.

On march 16th the richardson's purchased a jeep cherokee for their son.Mr richardson signed a as is warranty.By law when they drove off it was their's.The vehicle did have a mechanical issue. We decided that it would be good business to give the customer their money back.mrs.richardson arrived to receive their refund.Mind you she was not a part of the original deal so I didn't have to discuss the deal with her.Decided to refund the money only to be taunted and recieve verbal threats for the next 20 minutes. At that time  we decided to make this a legal issue because mrs(notice the small letters)Richardson was being disruptive and disturbing business. At this time we asked her and her son to leave the premises. They went to their car and the BIG BAD son found a lady outside to verbally assault(what a man). Mr richardson arrived and tried to make peace but still beleived that his wife had a right to curse and scream at people who were doing the right thing.mrs richardson the only idiot is you.You need to teach your son some manners and you need a ethics class on how a WOMAN conducts herself.
