Skyway USA Bad Service, bad customer service, & bad technical service Louisville Kentucky
*Consumer Comment: It worked ok for me.
I called for 3 months trying to get the service to work correctly.
Called technical service at least 4 times but they only had record of me calling 2 times.
Only returned call 1 time had to call back another time.
Technical service was never able to fix the problem. Ended up having to reset the internet settings each time in order to even use the service.
Quit using the service because of frustration, but still had to make monthly payments for the entire 12 months even though I had called to complain about service.
Customer service when called still would not help or even consider refunding last payment when I was transfered to another state.

I signed up for Skyway USA in September 2008 and have been using the service since then. The self-install kit had everything that was needed as well as a signal strength indicator that can be used at the dish so that you don't need to take your computer up a ladder to align the dish. The speed is not great but it is as adverised at the basic $29 rate. Sure is better than dial up but too slow for streaming video. I may try the next step up in speed if they will give me a short trial first.
I have installed other satellite systems including a C band system and a DirecTV system. The Skyway install was about the same degree of difficulty as the DirectTV system and it sure was much easier than the old C band system. It is possible that I have newer equipment than the problem customers did. The SW-20 connects to the dish and the phone line. You don't even need a modem in your computer.
I have connected the SW-20 modem to a wireless router and now have Wi-Fi throughout the house. I don't use my landline phone for much else so Skyway has that phone much of the day.
If there are billing problems I have not seen them yet. They hit my cc each month with the correct amount.
