I have a toll-free number for them. No more of me calling long-distance to them... it's 1-866-212-7408.

They are a collection agency engaged by Sprint. It would take up WAY too much space to tell you my story... but suffice to say, they call my house 4-5 times a day AND call my mother's house at least that many. Whe she tells them that I have not lived at her house since 1985, they accuse her of lying and tell her she is really me. They are RUDE, NASTY, and like to hang up on your when you try to explain that you DON'T owe any money to Sprint. They call at all hours... I have even gotten them as late as 10 PM. When you ask to speak to a supervisor, they do not allow that and hang up on you. Most recently, I spoke with "Donte." I told him to stop calling me and he started rattling off that I am a deadbeat and that I should pay my bill. He then told me to pray before I call and that Jesus saves. That is unfortunate - because as a Christian, it offends even me that he would use his collection call to further harass me about religion.

These people will NOT listen to what you are saying. They have called me names and screamed at me. I have contacted Sprint - but they won't do anything at this point. (Again, long story) If anyone knows of a way to further report this company, please post. I WILL PARTICIPATE!

As far as Sprint, I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase ANYTHING from them again. Obviously Sprint, through THEIR ERROR (not mine**) got these people on my back. My calls to Sprint to try to get them to contact RPM so the harassment will stop has been futile. Too bad I don't live in Washington state, or these people would be getting a visit from me. I will post my story on every site that I can find regarding RPM and Sprint. If anyone can think of anything else we can do, please post!

** Sprint took MY payment and credited it to someone else's account. The bill was $36 and I paid it on May 2, 2005. Now the bill is up to $70 for fees, late charges, etc. Since Sprint didn't credit my account, they turned it over to RPM for collections. Sprint/RPM has ruined my credit due to THEIR mistake. Not mine. It is now nearing the end of October 2005 and this issue is STILL not resolved. (I've not had Sprint since April 2005).

I used the toll-free #, and they've removed my number. Period. I was not the guy they were looking for, and they determined this by asking me if my address and birthdate wer the ones they had on file. They were not, and that was that. So thank you for the number-tip. I really appreciate having these fers out of my life.

Yvonne...Sprint is no longer involved..

Yvonne,

When a debt is assigned or sold, it is ILLEGAL for the original creditor to deal with you.

First thing you need to do is send a CEASE COMMUNICATION letter as per your rights under the FDCPA which you can find at FTC.gov, and you can get a sample of the letter free at budhibbs.com. You can also read all about this sleazy business.

Send the letter certified mail, return reciept requested. be sure to put the certified # on the letter itself, and keep a copy for your records.

NOW, dispute the debt with the credit bureaus, by the same means above, for reason: "Account paid BEFORE going to collections".

Now sit back and wait. It will be removed, if they cannot verify it in 30 days it is off your credit for good, and cannot be re-reported.

Also while at the FTC website, file a complaint for the illegal collections activity.

Taking the problem to the source

There is alternative to calling customer service. Call corporate headquarters at 877-875-7505. Do not press any buttons. The system will eventually transfer your call. There are investigators and customer service specialists to handle this. This is where the President, VP of Customer Service work out of. Try to be nice. They will assist you. I got this from a customer service rep who got tired of being bounced around himself. Frustrated, he told me who to call!
