State Farm does not care about its customers!

My mother is a loyal customer of State Farm. Naturally, I trusted her judgement to go ahead with this company to have my vehicle insured. She was told by her agent (Marilyn Manzano) that I would pay $99 a month (Full Coverage). I called Marilyn immediately to set up my policy. At this point, no questions were asked of me about my previous driving record. I am new to buying auto insurance and was unaware that a series of questions should be asked prior to, in order to help the buyer obtain a fair quote. The nature of my call was for payment purposes only. I called Marilyn and asked her if my quote was true? and that I would indeed pay $99 a month for 6 months of coverage. She told me that this was correct and we proceeded to set up my first payment. Shortly thereafter I receive a letter in the mail indicating that my monthly payments would increase to $271 a month. I called my agent right away to ask what could have caused such a dramatic change! She then explained to me that her "Under Writers" missed something on my record. She told me that an automobile accident was found on my record 3 years ago in 2009. I told her that I understood, but that I would need to cancel my policy because I could not afford $271 a month. I was then told that I would be required to pay 10% of the entire premium for canceling my policy early.

I feel taken advantage of from the lack of professionalism I experienced with this company. If Marilyn had actually gone through the application process with me, then I would have received a more accurate quote. Then, I wouldn't have had to cancel my policy early.. thus never having to pay 10 % of my premium. This agent did not ask me anything about my previous driving record. If she would have taken the time to ask me questions about my prior driving record none of this would have occurred. I would then be 100 % on board with paying any fees involved because the responsibility would have fallen on me for providing false or inaccurate information. In my opinion, those questions were never asked purposely with the intent of increasing my premium. I smell a scam! and because I had to cancel early, I am now forced to pay 10 % of my premium. This is unacceptable! and in my opinion out right theft! I have to pay for someone else's error because they did not do their job adequately. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. No one took ownership and stood up for me as the customer!
