I asked for a sat nav device which could be used in North America and Europe. The vendor stated clearly in front of witnesses that the Garimn Nuvi 750 device I was buying was the latest 2010 model which had just come out, included maps of North America and Europe and that these maps had a lifetime update with Garmin.

When I registered the device on the Garmin web site I found that it was a discontinued model, had first been used seven months previously, had an outdated North America map, did not have a European map at all and there was no lifetime update for either map. 

I returned to the shop to give them the chance to rectify these discrepencies but they refused and started to call the police. I had to leave the shop at this point because my wife became distressed.

I am also progressing my dispute with the Orlando Better Business Bureau.
