Subway has mailed out numerous coupons with an expiration date of Dec. 31st, 2014. The coupon reads exactly, "Buy ANY 6-inch sub with ANY drink, and get ANY 6-inch sub of equal or lesser price FREE!"
When I tried to use the coupon they refused it stating it was not valid for a premium sub. The coupon states ANY 6-inch sub.
I ordered a 6-inch Philly Cheese Steak and a 6-inch tuna sub. I paid regular price for the Philly sub along with a drink at the regular price. The Tuna sub is of a lesser price than the Philly sub. Therefore, the Tuna sub should have been free. The cashier refused to accept the coupon stating it was not valid with the purchas of the Philly sub.
I know this sounds rather petty and is not really a big deal, but Subway should honor what they advertise to minimize the posibility of being sued for false advertising in order to attract customers.

Declined Coupon and MSG Madness

I also was denied a free second sub of "any type." "Premium" subs are not included. This was in California but same scenario. Even worse, the cold cuts in my Italian sub must have been literally drenched in MSG. I had a terrible MSG attack. I happen to be real sensitive to MSG (tachycardia, shortness of breath, can't lay down, sometimes a dull headache); yeah...I know, it's rare). But if MSG bothers you skip the cold cut sandwiches here.
