Tanner Transmission tried to ripoff me Ogden Utah

I took a 1992 Ford Explorer into the ogden office because of a rattle in the front end. it seemed worse when the car was in gear causing me to think it was the transmission. I took the car in to have a power flush thinking this might help. they took off the pan and told me that a "pump" in the transmission housing was out and needed to be replaced. the cost of this would be in excess of $400.00 just in labor.

I told them that wasn't acceptable and had them replace the pan and fluid and I left. feeling a need to have the repairs done, i called back to inquire the cost of the repairs. I was told by Bob that it would runanywhere between $1200 and $1800. I went to a private repair shop, had the owner take the car for a test drive and he said there was nothing wrong with the transmission.

we pulled teh truck on his lift and found a 10 inch puddle of transmission fluid under the car. this car had never had a leak prior to tanner looking at it. we raised the truck and found what was causing the rattle. to my surprise it was the muffler lying on a cross member of the frame. the repair tech at tanners also bent a clip in between the pan and the transmission housing causing the leak.

the private repair shop flushed the fluid, replaced the filter, fixed the bent clips and repaired the broken muffler hanger for less than $90 and the truck runs great.
SHAME ON YOU TANNER TRANSMISSION FOR BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE. WORD OF MOUTH REPORTS AND WEB SIGHTS LIKE THIS WILL PUT YOU OUT OF BUSINESS!!!
