Misunderstanding Resolved with Target Local Marketing, Not Scammers.

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 07, 2015
I would like to update my original complaint to portray a more accurate picture of the misunderstanding.    Once something is posted on Rip-off report, it can't be removed, only updated.  The original review was a bit harsh and I am happy to supply this update.   I was frustrated by the cost and time it takes to get my website ranking on the first page and feel that no one explained it terms I could understand and didn't set the appropriate expectations.  So out of frustration, I posted this complaint.  After working with the company further and talking with the Director of Marketing, I have a better understanding of what it takes and how long it takes to get a site ranking on the first page.  So, as an update, here is what is happening.  They did build me a website that is mine to keep along with the domain names that were registered, as promised.  I will not be seeking a refund for that and there are no issues here.

As for the AdWords consultation, I was under the impression that telemarketers could be blocked from clicking on my ad, but after further discussion, the campaign manager was merely suggesting modifying the hours the campaign ran to avoid prime telemarketing hours in an effort to reduce telemarketing calls as well as making sure the campaign is targeted locally and not visible nationwide. I was also working with a Google rep on my Adwords and didn't realize that the consultation I paid for would be covering those same topics.  Once this came to light and I did not feel there was anything they brought to the table, I was refunded the $100 consultation fee right afterwards.  This was a misunderstanding on my part as well as Target Local Marketing's part and has been resolved.

And finally, in regards to the $300 I paid for a directory blitz, that was already refunded prior to posting my original complaint. Even though they performed all the work and they did already submit my business to all of the major online directories and review sites, they still refunded me.  They just didn't do a great job of explaining why local listings mattered and how long it takes for the search engines to find all the new information and begin moving my website higher.  I was also frustrated that the original sales rep who advised me to do this was not longer with the company and that I had to deal with the manager.  I now have a better understanding of this and this issue has been resolved.

Overall, all issues have been resolved and the company is working hard to make sure there are no further misunderstandings.
