Teachers credit union Automotive Finance Dept. Customer service. 110 Wanted to give me a "MEMBER" a higher intrest rate, because i didn't take loan from dealer i went to branch south bend Indiana

I had applied online for an auto loan, I already had a loan however I was purchasing a 2015 vs a 2014 that i had already borrowed money on, my balance on a 2014 truck was under 30k value over 50k , so I was upgrading to a 2015 and just was going to pay the diffrence out of pocket for the upgrade and keep my current amount financed.

 Nobody ever called me from TCU so i called them. The lady then explained i would need to provide my w2 before she could even see if I was approved. I explained to her I can provide that but why can't you tell me if i am approved I should be you guys already have a current loan and my credit score is over 700 with no past due bills and zero in collections, also my debt to income ratio is really low. She then told me she needed my W2 HOWEVER it does look like you can get the loan your intrest rate that is currently 2.2 percent will go up to 4.75 percent. I then again explained all i want to do is UPGRADE not borrow more money so can i just provide you with a title to a 2015 truck and get the 2014 title, she explained to me she could not do that which i do understand.

 What i had and have an issue with is 1. If your a memeber and you don't go thru a vendor that they use for auto financing then that rate goes up, she said the reason it goes from 2.2 to 4.75 is because you did not buy it from a car lot that uses us for financing , i then explained exactly however your telling me your going to charge me over 2 points of intrest because i want to come to TCU instead of going to a place they would choose for me, I would think you would also reward a member for thinking about you for finance. The lady then told me to check around for better rates , she said she would look around and go else where. NOW THATS THE TRUTH , it floored me, I was not rude with her but she pretty much told me to go somewhere else to borrow money.

 I had called and left 3 voice mails and well as several emails for the Pres and CEO of this financial bank to contact me, he never did instead I get a call from a guy telling me pretty much thats the rules and sorry about my luck, however he said he wasn't happy the way the deal was treated and sorry about that.

 I went to CHASE BANK AND GOT A RATE OF 2.02 percent and was treated like a KING.. I am just telling people now stay away from TCU as they are not about customer service or member service they are more worried about screwing people over and then not even doing a follow up with them.. So sad that a financial bank such as TCU has customer service as poor as any low class hotel ..
