Teleperformance My employment was threatened DAILY because I needed a few days after my mother was killed. Repeated voicemails telling me she's not my family and I'm not entitled to anytime off and HR only shows up when she feels like it so you'll have to work around her schedule. Fairborn Ohio

The woman who raised me was killed 5/28/2013 at the young age of 41. Naturally I needed a few days to pull myself together and find a way to place this out of my head before returning to work. Which was their retention department by the way, where its not uncommon to take a call where you're canceling an account due to a death.  I knew this I would be something I couldn't do handle right away so I took 2 days off and returned to work. During those 2 days I received 10 calls a day wanting to know where I was at and when I was returning or if I could come in and I even still have a few of the voicemails from lower members of management saying " hey I hate to be calling you but Mike Lewis (runs the whole Fairborn center) says thats not your real mom and you're not entitled to any time off, please call back this counts against you. 

Wow! Really? That woman raised me since 7, I'm 25 now, married to my father for years and leaving me with a 13 year old brother. Scared for my job I returned the 3rd day, took a call for death and found I couldn't even speak to the customer and had to hand off the phone. It was awful. The next day I couldnt be there I was an emotional train wreck. I spoke with the supervisor who handled my department to let him know what was going on and that i physically can't make myself stop crying. He apologized let me know he found a law ONLINE that states i would be entitled to 3 days or 24 hours off of work for a step parent and that if I needed more time I would be out of my call off time. Also that I needed to submit an obituary to the HR department as proof. I missed another few days but still had not gone over my limit and returned to work only to continuously be threatened over not submitting this obituary which I emailed to my direct supervisor but neither he or I could reach the lady who runs HR she just wasn't coming in, not returning my calls and when she was there straight ignoring me until it got to a point when Mike Lewis pulled me aside during a shift and made me explain what happened and why I had not submitted proof, I explained and forwarded him the email I originally sent her and my supervisor and let him know I tried and never heard from her to which he felt bad about to my face... Then a few hours later a lower member of management sent me a private text to let me know that he just got an email from Mike Lewis basically saying to find a way to get rid of me and again the next day I was threatened. By this time I was so upset with how they handled the situation and that during the time I should have been mourning I was panicking that I would be fired and on 6/14/2013 I quit and did not return and did not answer any of their calls. 

On 7/2/2013 I called HR again her name is Mynette, I let her know that my son has insurance through the county and that they request she submit proof I don't work there. She said I've been calling and calling you, what is your problem?! You've been on a leave for 2 weeks and we need to know when you're coming back. Told her I haven't heard from you one time since this started and I have not been on leave. I left because no one knew how to handle my situation and it sucked! She then said ok then well bring me a form to file otherwise I'm not faxing anything! Alright whatever I took the form and she never turned it in. Yesterday 8/12/2013 I had to file with the county that they were unresponsive and today after Not being employed for two months, received a check for 49 cents during this "2 week leave I took" so it looks like I was employed the whole time. 2 pay periods after I quit. I haven't taken any legal action but after all of this I'm starting to think maybe I should...
