I needed to move some things for Chicago to Los Angeles. I called several moving companies. Where I did receive better quotes, I went with The Moving Experts (aka Elite Moving & Storage) because of my conversation with Mary. She was very professional. She quoted all fees up front. Also When I looked up "The Moving Experts" with the http://BBB.org they had an A rating.

It wasn't until the day of pickup that I found out that the company had subcontracted me out to Elite Moving & Storage. Since it was the last minute I just went with it. The mover who came to pickup my items were very professional. They wrapped everything well and the boxes clearly marked "FRAGILE" were handled with care. When they left I felt some relief that my items were in good hands.

Due to some issues in California I took the option for 1 free month of storage. But once I got things worked out my items arrived with in just over a week. That's when things turned for the worst. On a Sunday evening I received a call from the delivery driver requesting to make the delivery at 7 am the next morning. That was impossible. I reminded him that per my contract with The Moving Experts I was to receive a call two days prior to delivery. I made arrangements for Tuesday at 10am. It was all done in a rush and last minute. But I just went with it.

Tuesday came; they didn't arrive until 12 noon. They claimed my address was not in their GPS so I had to guide them to my house nearly 20 blocks by phone. Once they arrived they started unloading right away. As my boxes made their way into my house I was disturbed at their condition. Where the smaller boxes were ok, the medium were either crushed with things spilling out or had holes punched in the sides. The furniture was still wrapped, but as they removed the blankets I saw nicks and scraps that were not present prior. One of my brass lamps was completely crushed at the top (that takes quite a bit of force (thank goodness I took photos of all my items prior pickup).

Once all things were unloaded, I noticed 3 boxes were missing. The delivery team lead asked me "If I was sure". I told him that I wrote down everything that was shipped, in other words I was positive. He went back to the truck to check but he claimed there was nothing more. I was told to call Elite and ask them to check the warehouse where they stored my items. I called the moment they left to file a claim. I spoke with Sasha. She took my information and said she would contact me by the end of the day. I received no response. Each time I called it was always the same story, I finally demanded the name and number of the supervisor.I was given the name of Joe (they refuse to give last names).I got in contact with him.He claimed he had located on of my boxes with the telescope in it.A week later a box marked telescope arrived at my door from some place in Arizona. The box was not mine nor were its contents.I called to inform Joe that they sent me someone elses item.He said he would have some one come a pick it up.No one ever showed up, now when I call I go directly to voice mail.I sent an email and they responded by telling me that they sent me my telescope and I would have to file a claim for the rest of my missing boxes. They are now refusing to take any responsibility for what they have done. They basically have stolen my property, and are now trying to replace it with someone elses.I am at my wits end with these people.I have filed complaints to the BBB.org the FMCSA and other organizations.I am considering suing based on fraud and thief.

Please stay away from this company and these people. They are thieves and scam artists.
