I became a victim in "The Right One" scam. I am a working single parent, who after my kids were raised and working on my career, didn't have time to meet people and when solicited thought this would be the answer to meet someone who at least would be screened for me.

After signing up, and it taking 4 weeks to complete all intake and registering (Of course payment is made and past 3 days) I was sent my first referral, who on the first phone call stated he was an admitted alcholic. Needless to say I did not go out with this man and called the company right away.

I requested a refund to no avail and was shmoozed into the fact that they didn't know the gentleman's problem and would send another referal. They were claiming that they had 2500 persons in their database for Chicago Land area.

I received another referral, this gentleman never called me nor answered his phone. At this point I contacted an Angie and Julie who works at the Customer Support Center and proceeded to let them know how unsatisfied I was with the service and demanded a refund. They stated that they cannot do this but will not use the past two referral's against my 12 referrals I'm allowed.

They then send me another referral and misrepresent his description/job. I was contacted by this person and find out he had just signed up with the service and after talking with him we both discovered we had absolutely nothing in common, (computer match?).

I contacted Angie at the Right One, and told her of the misrepresentation and no commonality. She apologized but said they were going to hold it as a referral to my account. She also stated that she would send new profile request for me to fill out. Needless to say this hasn't happen either.

I cannot believe that there is nothing I can do to get a refund from these people. I did threaten to go to the media before the last referral and that's probably why they sent the first new "victim" they had.

I have been dealing with this for the last 5 months and even wrote a letter to them requesting a refund, in which they sent a form letter of denial.

I have not had a date yet from a referral. I really would like to see justice here and like any bought product/service if the customer is dis-satisfied they should be able to return/cancel for a refund. Why is dating service so different? Contracts are signed when you buy a car, and if it is a lemon you can still return it and get your money back.

I would like to know if there are any law suits against these people.
