If you ever are contacted by this company, Run. I was repeatedly contacted by Rebecca DeMornae with regard to selling or renting my timeshare. Knowing better, I refused several times but finally caved to the constant battering.

Rebecca promised me that she could rent my timeshare (week 36, Westgate Town Center 4 bedroom) for $3200.00 a week. I had this week and two space banked weeks for a total of $9,600.00 income. Against the initial 300 or so for one years subscription to their service or $998.00 for a lifetime. Rebecca convinced my that the lifetime service was the best way to go.

I was skeptical. It was August 28th and week 36 for my timeshare started the next week. I questioned Rebecca again,"Are you sure you will be able to rent my timeshare?" She responded, "Absolutly sir, we do it all the time. Now let me get started on it and give me your credit card number." Again I asked,"Can I get my money back if you don't rent it". She replied, "I'm sure you can, other people have". "Okay" I said and gave her my AMEX number knowing that AMEX would back me up if this turned out to be a scam.

I agree and acknowledge that:
1. Timeshare Registry International is a For-Sale-By-Owner advertising company that is not a real estate broker. The advertising program involves pooling advertising resources with those of other sellers/renters to maximize exposure to potential buyers and renters.
2. Timeshare Registry International forwards all inquiries about my timeshare directly to me and allows me to negotiate the sale/rental of my timeshare without the involvement of a broker and without any commissions. 3. Timeshare Registry International assumes that my timeshare sells or rents in 3 months, unless I advise Timeshare Registry International to the contrary, prior to the expiration date of 3 months. Upon notification, Timeshare Registry International will renew my advertisement at the company's expense until the unit sells or rents.
4. Timeshare Registry International will advertise my timeshare until sold or rented.
5. Timeshare Registry International will refund my advertising fee if my timeshare is sold by another company within 20% of the original asking price upon proof of sale.

I read the terms and found no problems,So I signed the copy and faxed it back to Rebecca. After all, Rebecca promissed the unit would be rented.

I waited until the day that my unit was to be occupied. I had heard nothing from Rebecca or Timeshare Registry International. I called Rebecca at 1-800-300-0180 ext. 318. It went right to her voice mail. I tried her three more times that day. Each time leaving a message. I never heard from Rebecca DeMornae.

I contacted Westgate to determine if my Unit was being used. It was not. Conversation with Westgate left me with the understanding that there were a lot of companies in the area that were not reputable and that I should only try to rent my unitl on my one. Not thru an agency. Westgate didn't mention any names but I was sure I had been scammed by Timeshare Registry International and Rebecca DeMornae.

I contacted AMEX. The credited my account and put in a dispute on the charge. I waited and recieved back the fact that my dispute was denied and the charge was going to be reversed.

I contacted AMEX again with additional information. Again they appealed to Timeshare Registry International and were denied. Amex suggested that I contact them directly, which I did. Without even giving me the opportunity to explain anything Mike Sellers of Timeshare Registry International simply said that I had challenged the charge, he refused it, He won and he would not return my money.

That doesn't seem to me to be a customer service friendly response. It would be effective managment of a scam artist rip-off company. All they want is you money up front and you never hear from them again.

So I contacted AMEX again, told them of my conversation with Mike Sellers. I doubt that is his real name. I told AMEX about my converstaion with the Westgate Resort people. I told them what I thought about Timeshare Register LLC. Again they went back to try again.

This was denied once again. I am very disappointed with AMEX because they are still doing business with this scum firm.

Let's examine what I've gotten so far for my $998.00 from the Timeshare Registry. Nothing. I have never been contacted by them. Even when I wanted to appeal the charge, they would not talk to me. Timeshare Registry doesn't even know that I don't even own the unit anymore. My x does. This all started in August of 2006. I have a lifetime membership on a unit I don't even own and they will not talk to me about a settlement.

What about the promises made by Rebecca DeMornae? What about all this advertising they promise. This is what they promise:

This looks like false advertising, because I didn't see any of this. I've never seen an add in a newspaper. I've never seen an add on AOL, Msn, or Google.

I went into Yahoo and did several searches on "Timeshare Sales" and "Timeshare Rentals". Yahoo brings up hundreds of hits. I went thru each one looking for "Timeshare Registry" and any link to their website timesharesalesclassified. There was nothing there. There was no link anywhere. What kind of advertising is this? Anyone looking on the internet to rent or buy a timeshare is going to search the same way I did, and find nothing? This is what they call service?

The only way I could find their website is by searching for "Timeshare Registry". What does that have to do with renting or selling a timeshare?

Then once I found the website it was not user friendly. It is a feable attempt to provide just the basic information to satify the terms of the agreement. If you don't know your add number it take great effort to find. The search engine takes forever to find anything. All the listings are by add number and go back to the very begining. So, my add was about six pages in. I'd like to know how many hits my add has taken since August. I'd like to know how many hit this website has taken.

I checked on Google and found the same thing. Nothing under "timeshare Rental" or "Timeshare Sales" on a search. The only play to bring up the website is using the exact name "timeshare Registry". What does that tell you.

Two timeshare sellers and their telemarketer will pay more than $500,000 to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they violated the Do Not Call Rule by calling thousands of consumers who placed their phone numbers on the FTC's Do Not Call Registry. The Registry currently contains more than 85 million numbers.

Under the settlement, the timeshare sellers are barred from violating the Do Not Call Registry in the future. Two individuals who own the telemarketing company that made calls for the timeshare sellers are banned from owning or controlling any telemarketing operation in the future.

"You cannot hire subcontractors to break the law for you and then walk away free of consequences," said FTC Chairman Deborah Platt Majoras. "Millions of Americans have indicated that they do not want telemarketers calling them, and we intend to enforce the law that gives them the right to make that choice."

In August 2004, the FTC charged that Braglia Marketing Group (BMG) and its owners, Frank and Kate Braglia, unlawfully called hundreds of thousands of consumers who had placed their numbers on the Registry, and that they had not paid the Registry access fee for some of the area codes they called.

They also allegedly abandoned calls to consumers. Under the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), a call is "abandoned" if the seller or telemarketer fails to connect the consumer with a live sales agent within two seconds after the consumer answers the phone, resulting in "dead air."

According to the FTC's complaint, BMG made calls on behalf of the two timeshare and vacation properties in Atlantic City, New Jersey - Flagship Resort and Atlantic Palace. The FTC sought civil penalties and a permanent order prohibiting BMG and the Braglias from violating the law.

After further investigation, the FTC filed a second lawsuit charging Flagship Resort and Atlantic Palace with hiring BMG to telemarket their timeshares, and that while calling on their behalf, BMG violated federal law by calling registered numbers.

The complaint further charges that Flagship Resort itself called consumers who were protected by the Registry. The FTC's complaint also charges that the defendants abandoned calls to consumers and failed to pay required fees to access the Registry.
