I received a phone call from Will asking if I would like to rent or sell my timeshare. Of course I thought, "sure, wonder what I can get for it?" Well Will began to tell me anything that I would like to hear.
Will began by saying, "it's your timeshare, what do you want for it?" Along with also saying that "in my area" timeshares are going for $15,000, $16,000 easy. He also said, "why don't we put it up for $16,000 and if you come down, then you will still have plenty left over". When we discussed renting the unit, again, he was overly optimistic that I could get whatever my asking price would be because "in my area" there is a HUGE need for timeshares.

Now I understand that Will is trying to sell his service, but the part that got me the most is him being so adamant in the fact that I would have no problem in selling or renting my timeshare. He even went as far as saying that it will go within 4-6 weeks, easy.

Will wanted almost $1,200 for this service, but I told him that I could not pay that much so he went to $400. Now of course we all know the story, 4-6 weeks went by and no phone call, nothing. When I called Will back to ask how it was going, he would not even take my calls nor call me back when I left a message, and by the way, his voicemail signs off by saying "have a blessed day".

After I made my complaint about Timeshares By Owner, it went no where. I sent emails that were very rude and did get a response from Kevin White the Customer Service Mgr saying that he could probably do something for me to help make my unit rent or sell. Well to this day, nothing.

Timeshares By Owner is a complete scam, I urge anyone to please DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

Timeshare Ownership

AUTHOR: Jennifer Williams - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 24, 2013

The first thing you need to watch out is the sales pitch. If the timeshare salespeople are overly aggressive, they are probably trying to scam you. They might also give you many promises, but without any written confirmation, therefore, do not believe everything you hear. Also, keep in mind that purchasing timeshares under construction might be a risky business. Before you buy, you need to be sure you are going to be able to use your timeshare every year. It is also very important that you take your time to do a thorough research on the company. Timeshare Ownership

Received a call January 25, 2012

AUTHOR: RobertC - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 25, 2012

I received a call today from John Delanoy. He seemed pretty lost as he described how he will sell my timeshare (Playa Del Sol in Mexico). He said they have offices all over (L.A., Beverly HIlls, Las Vegas...). I asked for the address in Los Angeles. He asked me to hold. I was already clicking the Rip-Off Report website as he was talking and was ready to look at Google Earth map to see the building they are located in. He kept taking a long time between my questions and came back on the line with "I don't know the address in L.A. I work in Florida. Are you still interested in selling?" I said "sure" and let him hang himself some more. He rattled off their program "real fast" and mentioned a $995 up front cost. I told him I will not give any money up front. He said "thank you" and hung up. Clearly another scam, just like the 90 minute presentation to buy a timeshare that really took 4 hours.

Will From Timesharebyowner

AUTHOR: Idalla - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 24, 2011

My name is Idella and I have dealt with "Will" from Timesharebyowner and he is a liar and a con artist! His real name is David Williams and he claims to be operating out of Beverely Hills, California.  The truth is that he does not have an office.  I have requested to meet with him dozens of times.  I am also sure that he operates by himself .. the voice disguises he attempts to use when answering his own line is laughable!  He pretends to be having conversations with other people in his office while you are on the phone ... but you will never hear these nonexistent people say a word!  He stole thousands of dollars from me and should go to jail!  I am sure the license he is operating under doesnt say his name is "Will."

No Guarantees!!!

AUTHOR: Private Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 09, 2009

I am sure that you understood the fact that there would be no guarantee as to when your timeshare would sell or rent. By your statement it says Will said it could move in 4-6 weeks easily. But, their was no guarantee. No one has a crystal ball and can forsee the future and what it holds. So you invested $500 hundred dollars into a company and you are frustrated because your timeshare has not been responded too. Unfortunately you were not scammed you simply are asking too much or have a property that is not that desirable at this time. It is not for a lack advertising that is not moving it because i have seen several ads and commercials for this company. I have also Pu my timeshare with them to rent and every year it has rented since i signed with them. I also recall going thru a verification process which stated in a more technical fashion, there is no guarantee as to when this timeshare will sell or rent. Its like playing the lottery but with better odds if you price right and remain cool and collective. You will never win the lotto by complaining and you definitely wont win if you don't invest money into tickets.
So simply relax and let them do what they do best and handle your timeshare because obviously they didn't just fall off the face of the earth if you were able to contact and be contacted by somebody with the company. They are great at what they do and if you are calm and nice to them with your complaints they will be calm and nice with you while handling your complaints and concerns.
