Back in 2012  I signed up with Tower Loan in Bossier City. At the time they asked if I would be interested in also purchasing insurance which would protect me in the event of a job loss etc... about a month or so later I was involved in a car accident which fractured my spine as well as caused 3 herniated discs in my neck. Needless to say I was no longer able to work. I contacted Tower Loan in Bossier explained what happened  etc.. and we got the paperwork underway to file an insurance disability claim... I will tell you now this is THE biggest waste of time because even with this set in motion the ins. Pays whenever they see fit to causing paymets on your account to be extremely late. Not only that but I was also being contacted several times a day by this bunch of morons at Tower Loan asking when can they expect my paymet and that im now behind. I explain my situation they hang up a few hrs later somone else from the same branch contacts me asking the same questions. I had to tell them to stop calling several times and that the insurance THEY provided were now paying on my account. It is now 2014 my situation hasnt changed.... I did however file for disability and  was declared disabled by the state.  Tower Loan has recently started up calling me again every single day. They think they are slick by getting somone different to call me everyday but I tell them the same thing im disabled etc.... they get very rude cut me off and demand to know when im going to pay them. I just got more paperwork in from their insurance company that THEYsent, but are still demanding I come in Friday and make a payment. This is the biggest bunch of idiots I have ever dealt with. I have been told I can get an attorney involved and even contact the FTC in the matter and think I will. Any help would be greatly appreciated in the matter.

The issue is not about who owes money.  I have read more than 100 complaints about Tower Loans, and been a victim myself.  We paid our bills.  It is a matter of ethics and social responsibility.

If I loan a friend $100, and he does not pay me back.  Do I have the right to stalk, harass, threaten, trespass on his property? No, I do not, I would be arrested, yet, this is how Tower Loans conducts business on a daily basis.

The scary part is; They are protected by the law, they are allowed to do this.  It is not a criminal action persay...

But you can sue the crap out of them in civil court.  It doesn't cost much to file a suit.  I had to pay$120.00, I don't know if I will win, however, the more suits that are filed, the more attention it gets.

Tower Loans is not a good company, complaining is the first step, its time for action.

Insurance

I used to work for Tower Loan. Was not fond of the company.

I understand your complaint of when the insurance pays. They paid at any date of the month not considering your account can accrue a late charge.

But: You can always call the office to remove the late charges since the insurance was paying.

Also, The insurance will usually pay maybe 2-3 months. After that you have to submit a continuation form proving that you're still disabled. Just because the insurance is paying doesn't mean you stop following up with your account. Call the company and file a continuation claim for the months you were disabled before getting into "disability program".

Also, did you have AD&D (Accidental death and/or dismemberment) insurance? That would've also taken cared of your account.

Insurance...

The process of insurance is that you pay into a pool. Since you were injured a month after YOU recieved the loan, you did not pay that much into that pool. Eventually the insurance is going to run out and you will STILL be liable for the amount of the loan. Hate to tell you this, but the amount the have been paying has gone ONLY to your interest. YOU are responsible for the loan. When you took the loan you were able bodied. The insurance WILL run out. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOAN.

Your personal issues DO NOT factor into the loan agreement. Its not their job to care about your personal problems. It IS their job to collect payments from those people who have a loan out with them. Pay them off and you wont have to deal with them. Since you state they call you every day, this tells me you had to go with a sub prime lender. Also known as a DEADBEAT LENDER. This means you have to pay a incredibly high interest rate and that they will use EVERY trick in the book to get ahold of you so they can get paid.

It is NOT a ripoff because YOU DO OWE THEM MONEY!! Just because insurance is paying it doesnt mean that YOU are not responsible still. Go ahead and get a lawyer, because once your case is presented to a judge or arbitraitor, they are going to find in the loan companies favor. SO you will have wasted the money for a lawyer, money for the case, court costs all because they call you too much, when that very same money could have been used to just pay off the principle on YOUR debt.

Yes there has been some issues in your life. Sorry to hear it. But those issues DO NOT negate the responsibility you have to pay your bills. YOU need to work and get this taken care of. YOU need to get the principle paid off. No insurance is FREE. You dont know it yet but you are paying for this somewhere. Probably on the backend of the loan meaning you will have to pay just THAT MUCH MORE.
