1 FEB 15 I was browsing the Tracfone website to view what sort of android phone products they offered.  I have been a twenty some year user of Tracfones and was currently using a Samsung slide phone.  I saw and Alcatel One Touch that fit what I was looking for so I purchased it at a price of $149.99 plus $9 shipping ($158.99 total). 

I received the phone and placed a call to Tracfone in an effort to transfer the balance of current minutes (542), the remainder of service days (113) and my existing phone number.  The person handling my case, I believe his name was "luis" began the arduous task of "getting information" and after some thirty minutes informed me that this phone (which I had purchased off Trafone's website) was not a "Certified" phone and he could not activate it.   A ticket number 1106708431 was created for this case. 

After many unsuccessful attempts to clarify what "Certified" meant to no avail, I agreed to Tracfore sending me a prepaid mailer to return the Alcatel phone for an exact duplicate but hopefully one that is "certified."  The following day I attempt another call to Tracfone to gather more information regarding what exactly "certified" means and I spoke wiht some else about the matter and another ticket was issued, 1106770803 what now the official ticket for the new phone replacement.  Still no answer on what Certified meant after another thirty/forty minutes of computer crashes and gathering information.

Tuesday 17 Feb, I receive the replacement phone and it is an LG Ultimate 2....not what I ordered on 1 FEB 15 on purchase order number 8097544.  I call Tracfone to discuss the matter and, as usual, another ticket 1106778216 is created and I tell them I want what I ordered or I want a refund.  The recommend I take this up with a higher level at corporateoffice@tracfone.com

Yesterday I pulled the plug wiht my relationship with Tracfone.  After weeks of unsuccessful emais requests, bogus replies from Tracfone on attempts to reach me and not being able to leave voicemails.  They called me twice, I could tell by the screeon on the portable land phone who it was, I let it ring twice, press the talk button and received nothing on the other end. 

I ask in several emails to receive a refund to my ViSA card and a prepaid mailer to return the replacement phone which was not what I ordered.  They refused.  I called Tracfone and asked the same questions and was unprofessionally told that it was not possible and no sane explanation was offered, only double talk.  I have since notified Tracfone to no longer make contact with me by phone or email. 

I have filed three (3) reports with the Attorney General's Office in Miama, the FCC, and the Dept of Consumers Affairs.  In the midst of all this effort, yesterday I find out that my Samsung slider phone that I have used for years was no longer active.  Now I'm without my cell phone. 

Tracfone is not a company operated my professionals with the exception that perhaps they are professional crooks.  They try and trap you with their circular maze of logic(?) and I'm sure they traditionally and typically engage in ripping off the consumer.  FCC should pull their license.

Julie,

The email you include in your messages is no good.  I've tried sending you and email and it comes back undeliverable.  Why don't we get honest here and admit you and Tracfone really don't want to settle this matter.  If you really want to exchange dialogue, provide me with a "direct" phone number that I can call you.  One that does not have "press 1" for or "press 2" for this or anything else, just a direct to your desk number.  Make that happen ASAP.

Julie,

In response to your request that I contact you, and based on the historical experiences over the past three (3) weeks, I remain extremely skeptical that you or anyone at Tracfone have the moral dignity or professional competence to help any Tracfone customer.  My desires are simple: a prepaid package which I can use to return the replacement phone (which was not the phone I ordered on 1 FEB 15) back to Tracfone; a full refund to my VISA credit card in the amount of $149.99 plus $9 shipping (158.99 total); and reimbursement for the 113 service days and 542 minutes which remained on my existing account of my Samsung slider Tracfone which, by the way, during all this insanity, someone at Tracfone decided to deactivate the phone.

 

Now I have no cell phone at all.  But not for long and not with Tracfone.
