I was contacted by Beyond that they had a job for me from a place that would provide tuition free training to do Medical Transcription from home. After I contacted them, they said that I would only have to pay for the software which they said was $450. I could not afford to pay that all at once, so I paid $100 and then $140 so I could get the software. After I made the second payment on Thursday, I talked to a live person online and they said that I would be assigned a personal trainer the next day and receive my software in one day. I didn't hear from them until Saturday and then they had me fax them all the paperwork including a form saying that I downloaded the software and that it was working properly.
The only thing that I downloaded was the thing that you play it on. I could not play any files until Monday night when I finally received a website and a personal trainer. I could not test the software until after I received a website with the files on it. I tried to transcribe one of the files, but it was impossible to do that. It was so hard to understand and I tried over and over again with no success. Their software totally sucks and their so-called references that they provide are also no help at all.
They also said that the footpedal would help a lot and I would have to pay for that if I wanted it. They just want to get you to pay for the software, and then they highly recommend the reference books and the footpedal just to get more money. I hope that this helps to stop people from making the same mistake that I did. I dropped out of school in order to do transcription from home. I don't know about anyone else but I am tired of all the scams online and I refuse to be a part of any more! They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping innocent people off like they do. This is definitely one of the biggest scams around, no question about it!

Let me make sure I understand what your complaint is. You quit school so you could stay home and train to be a transcriptionist. And now because you actually have to work at something, it is someone else's fault that you can't do it?

You contacted Transam Associates; they offered you free training, free personal trainer and a job when you completed your training and you are complaining?

They even offered you a layaway program for the software for the free training because you couldn't afford the whole price at once time.

They gave you a personal trainer, tech support and you could talk live to a person online any time you needed assistance.

To better enable you to hear and transcribe more proficiently, Transam Associates also offered you a foot pedal you could purchase to make training even easier.

Gee, sounds to me as if the only one not fulfilling their end of the deal is you! If you know of an easier, less expensive or more helpful way of obtaining transcriptionist training I'd like to know. Are you really just asking for a free ride without work? I still haven't figured out where you get they lied or scammed you.

Transcriptionists aren't just typist! They are highly skilled, well trained people that transcribe medical information dictated by physicians that expect accurate information because their patients' lives depend on it! No wonder you wanted to remain anonymous! Good luck to you in the future. I suggest that you return to school and continue your free education the traditional way.
