My Husband recently started his own company and we were in need of a credit card processor and check machine. After speaking with several companies, my accountant gave me a business card for TransTech. We called the sales rep and she came out to assess our needs. We told her what other companies were charging and she said that there rates were ridiculously high. She showed us a nice picture of a credit card machine and told us that a check converter came with the deal. We asked her if we could buy the equipment outright and she said that if we did and found we didn't really need the check converter than we would be stuck with it. The price she told us was $1000.00 for both pieces of equipment & we could buy it out at any time or return if we felt we didn't need it. I signed the contract with a lease of $40/mo & figured it was a good deal. This was in March and the store wasn't open yet but she had the company send the equipment anyway. For the next few weeks we received numerous calls from her wanting to set up the terminals but we told her we might not be open for a few months & didn't want to pay for equipment we weren't using. She said that TransTech wouldn't charge us for anything until we started using the machine. We put her off for a couple of weeks until she just showed up at our store wanting to set up the terminal & make sure everything was working. We agreed to let her do it & she assured us we wouldn't be charged. But, everything she said was a LIE!! TransTech started charging me in March when the equipment was sent & every month thereafter for 4 months even though the store wasn't open & we were not using the machine.

I called Cust. Service in July to get a refund of all the previous months charges and they told me that that don't do that and my claim for a refund was denied. I have put in a call to my sales rep 2 weeks ago but she has yet to get back to me. I was so mad that I told TransTech I wanted to send all the equipment back. They said that was fine but I would have to pay $3000.00 to buy out the lease. I told her the price the sales rep quoted and she laughed at me and said "I don't know where she got that figure from". The contract I signed only had the monthly payment and the credit card rates. Nothing else was on the contract. I guess it's initially my fault b/c I didn't read through the whole contract of 10 pages. I trusted the sales rep and realized I made a HUGE mistake. Now I'm stuck with a company and a Sales Rep that I am not happy with.
