I was diagnosed with cancer within three months of financing our vehicle. We tried to maintain the payments, but a decision had to be made, pay for meds and save your life - or pay for a vehicle and watch it get repoed and stick your surviving spouse with the problem. We did a voluntary surrender with the repo man on 12.23.06. We never heard another word from Triad until we received a nasty threatening letter. First and formost, they sold our vehicle at auction without telling us about the auction date. (Claimed to have mailed that information on 12.25.06, funny as no-one in that company works Christmas Day). Then they send us a bill for MORE than we owed on the vehicle after they sold it at auction.
We tried on 8 occasions to have them clarify this, instead they call your place of employment and try to get you fired. Then today - my sister called Ms. Crawford, she gave out MY social security number to her over the phone. What Ms. Crawford doesn't realize, the entire conversation was recorded. Lawsuit - darn right we will join in. I have 30 well documented phone conversations and six recordings. Todays was the best and adds the icing on the cake.
They don't realize it, but any Judge who hears about their scam will certainly side with the average folks. People are just trying to live the American dream without finance companies ripping honest hard working folks off. Class action lawsuit all the way! We were involved in (let them remain un-named) mortgage company who scamed people, funny how they had to change their name. Unfortunately, 90% of the people do not realize they are now a credit card company who ALSO rips people off. Under a senate hearing, this company was again slapped. Triad needs the same brought out to the public eye. No-one should ever have to put up with their shenanigans.

I have just been approved though capital one at 17.45% and Triad at 11.99%. Was very excited to get the 11.99 since I am one year out of bankruptsy due to spouse injured and lost job for 2 years. Now After reading all these complaints I am scared to death to go with triad.. any suggestions anyone have good experiences with this company?

It appears that some people feel the class action suit is taking too long. I agree. Since some feel that they can do it faster then go for it. When you get it going I will add my name to it. hould I check back in oh, let's say tomorrow to see if you got it filed? It appears you have the ability to expedite things so it's all yours now. Hurry up though, there are a lot of victims and the numbers are growing!!

I am a customer who has a loan thru Triad Financial in Huntington Beach. I have read a few peoples reports and must say my experience with Triad is completely different. I got a pymnt book, I also receive notification when a pymnt is due and when pymnt is made. I have called customer service and a gentleman by the name of Steven went out of his way to assist me. When I started back at college I asked a pymnt be pushed back, and it was. At Christmas I push back Decembers pymnt as well. All I can say is if you stay in contact with them they are willing to work with you, yes the intrest is a bit higher than I would like, but then again my credit isn't the best in the world either.Triad a rip off I would say NO

The class action lawsuit Angie is stating has taken over two years, and has yet to be entered in a court of law.

When you finance a car with a high interest rate (sub prime lender) and then have the car repod, here is what happens.
A. Your car is repod and sold at auction. You seem offended that they didn't email you the date of the auction, but by your own words you had no interest in keeping the car since you had medical bills and couldn't afford it.
B. You are now responsible for the entire loan amount minus the amount the car sold for at auction PLUS
C. You are responsible for the repo fee PLUS
D. You are responsible for any fees associated with the auction PLUS
E. You are responsible for fees regarding any paperwork
These are all legal fees.
