Trupanion Pet Insurance They Raised Rates TWO Times in One Year! Nationwide

When I first signed up with Trupanion, they offered a lot of coverage. In the monthly rate they included boarding, help finding lost pets, accident coverage, illness and more.  Fast forward a couple years and they raised my rates every year, and the worst hit was that they raised my rates TWO times in ONE YEAR!!  But not only that, they also removed some of the coverage that they previously included and now made it an additional option and additional charge!

I called them to complain about the first rate increase a year ago and they told me the same story that they have been telling the other ripped off consumers, but the rep assured me that there would not be another rate increase for at least a year. Well, just a few months after, they raised my rate again!  And we're not talking pennies. We're talking 20% at a time. 

I asked to speak to a supervisor. When I did, she told me that whatever coverage was included when I signed up with them years ago was still in force in the policy. I told her that I hope she was telling me the truth. To which she said she would check to make sure that was correct and then would call me back. Well, guess what? She never called back. No one from Trupanion did.  And from what I can see, those things that were covered when I signed up are no longer covered. I asked for all my money back. They said no.  How is it that they can change coverages and not hold up on their end of the deal, while I've been paying faithfully all these years and have had no claims? 

In my opinion they are a horrible greedy sneaky company. Raising rates twice in two years is not acceptable. They know that once you've paid into the policy for many years, you will not easily quit due to their ridiculous rate increases because you don't want to lose all the money you put into it.  

What a shameful greedy company!! Disgusting! 

I absolutely do not recommend Trupanion. They are a rip off!
