TUFFY AUTO SERVICE CENTER Bait & Switch Overcharging, Not Needed Repair Pushing! Longwood, Florida

Went to Tuffy Auto Sevice Center in Longwood, FL for a simple $16.95 oil and filter change as advertised on their front road sign. I was told that the type of oil the manufacturer recommended they did not have in bulk, so it would be $10.00 more. I agreed to that to get the work done, as I was in a hurry. As they were changing my oil, I was presented with a color chart of my brake fluid that was almost in the supposed "danger" zone. The brakes work fine, so I told them no to the $69.99 brake fluid change. Then they told me that the air filter was dirty and needed to be replaced. The air filter is a permanent cleanable air filter, so I told them no. They told me my window wipers needed to be replaced, but they work fine, so I told them no for that as well.

When I got the final bill for the oil change it was $36.00, instead of the $26.00 that was agreed on. I did not have time to argue so I paid it and left, but will not go back.

These people, like a lot of the franchise repair centers, are engaged in "switch and bait" and "jack and sell." If I had agreed to all their recommended repairs, they would have probably totaled $170.00. I just went in there for an oil change. Don't go there!
