I found the flyer for carpet cleaning in the Valpak of Las Vegas package and called and scheduled an appt. because of their ad stating that 3 rooms cleaned for $59.95 and Love Seat for $19.95, expecting to pay approximately $80. Whey they arrived, they cleaned a small portion in the bedroom and then gave me the real price for them to clean, which was $231.75 for the carpet and $96.pp for the loveseat, then they tacked on $51. for carpet and $37. for loveseat for scotchguarding for a grand total of $416.53. Needless to say I was aghast at this price, not quite what they were advertising.

The technician explained to me that if I wanted my crapet really clean that this would be the price. My whole house square footage is only a little over 1307 and the price he quoted for cleaning carpet came out to 515 sq. ft. Since I was already to have my carpets cleaned, preparing things off the floor and such, we came to $271. for both carpet and loveseat along with scotch guard enty ways. I felt both robbed and swindled by the misleading advertising. The technician told me it would be about 3-4 hours before the carpet was dry. It has now been 24 hours and my bedroom is still wet.

We vacuumed the livingroon to find dirt and hair in our basket that filled up half a gallon plastic bag. We haven't finished vacuuming, but I'm sure the remainder of the house will be the same. The technician assured me that he was doing a deep cleaning which would consist of getting down to the padding cleand as well. I had my carpets cleaned last January and the carpeting was new a little over a year priorso it's not like I have a filthy floor.

I have contacted Valpak to let them know what type of customers they have in their advertising and also contacted the supervisor of the carpet company to come take a look at the wet & dirty carpet I still have. They blamed the hair on our dog, which is a Shitzu who has hair like humans and does not shed like a regular dog and would not give us the number to the owner, but did give us the name, which I googled as Mike Levi, who has ripoff reports, and found that I'm another victim of the bait & switch tactic of which I hope that I can prevent others from having the same experience.

I am writing in response to our customer Debra Davis.  First let me clarify our advertized pricing.  Our coupon clearly state that a "steam clean" for carpets "starts" at $59.95 for 3 rooms.  A Love seat starts at $19.95.  I am sure the public is aware that the word "starts" is indicative to a starting price.  If a customer chooses to go with the a cleaning other than a "steam clean" then the price of will very significantly.  There are several variables that determine the cost of carpet & upholstery cleaning.  And we can not determine the "actual" price for a cleaning other than a "steam cleaning" until we actually see, chemical test and measure the carpet.  And in regards to the Love seat, pricing will also very based on fabric, cleanliness & condition of the Upholstery.  Drying time can also very.


Ms. Davis, made a conscience decision to first agree & then pay for the service & cost presented to her.  If Ms. Davis felt so "swindled" & "mislead" with the service & pricing, then she could have simply declined the service or have stated her dissatisfaction at the time of the service.  This is clearly a case of a woman that spent more than she wanted, and is now regretting it.
