A sales representative from Universal Accounting Center, sold me on the idea to try one of there accounting programs.

After several phone calls and several emails. I agreed to look at the program solely based on his confirmation that Universal Accounting Center had a 100% no hassal return policy that if after viewing there course, I felt it was not for me I could return it for a full refund.

After receiving the course I reviewed it for several days and decided the course was not what I was looking for. After several attempts to return the course they refused to take it back. I contacted the sales rep that sold the course to me and this time he told me the only way I could get a refund is to complete the course and at that point I would need to write a letter explaining why the course did not benefit me. Thats when they would consider the refund.

They refuse to give me a refund or take the course back. Now they have me in default and sent my information to a collections agency to collect $2467.50 plus a 50% collections agency fee.

The people I have spoken to that refuse to help are:

David Brouma - Sales Rep
Trudy Rushton - Facilitation Department
Bryan - CPA

I got my full refund

AUTHOR: lynn g - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 04, 2009

Universal Accounting was 100% responsive and supportive as I tried to master this subject matter, but after deciding this was not a career track for my personality and skills, I simply returned the materials and within 2 weeks of the material being received by Universal was refunded every single penny I'd paid.

There wasn't a single stall or issue or fine-print delay in my geting my money back. I was very impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved.

The student is obligated, however, before returning the materials to listen through to the tutorials and really make an effort to learn it.  That's the agreement you make with UA.  I did do the lessons and tried the tests, which is only fair.

I've read some reports by people who never tried to absorb the material and complained about not getting all their money back. This company will give you your full refund as long as you comply with the original agreement - that you try to learn the material. If you do this and decide accounting isn't for you, then return the books / discs and they will honor their end of the agreement.

Ragen Bostrom and Courtney Sellers were highly professional and fair throughout the refund process.

Satisfied Universal Student

I realize a lot of people have financial troubles. I have been there before myself and hope you rsituation improves.

That being said it bothers me to see such a good company besmirched. I am a student with Universal and have had a fantastic experience with them.

The terms are that they will refund your money IF you complete the course. I promise you that if you do complete the courses you will realize what a great investment you have made.

Universal is willing to go the extra mile for anyone. They overnighted me a new contract at their own expense to lower my payments because I was having difficulty keeping up with my payments.

I have never spoken to Allen but he seems like a very good man and his business principles are refreshing old school yet cutting edge at the same time. Courtney Sellers and Heidi Bostrom have been fantastic as well.

I have completed The Professional Bookkeepers course and earned the designation Certified Professional Bookkeeper. The information in this course is invaluable and I would not dream of returning it. Armed with this knowledge I have incorporated my company and begun marketing. I am signing a lease on my new store front office in the business district of my hometown on November the 1st. Profits from just 3 clients are paying for all the expenses associated with the new office. The next client I get will end up paying off my balance with Universal so the courses are literally paying for themselves and providing me with an entirely new lifestyle.

If you still have the sourse materials finish what you started. Once you do this you will have no need to return the materials.

I wish you good luck.

We hope Johnny's situation improves

AUTHOR: Allen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 14, 2007

Johnny, of Virginia Beach, has criticized Universal unjustly and failed to mention the true nature of his complaint.

Universal has proven over our 27 year history that we stand behind our agreements. By the same token, we expect others to stand behind theirs. With thousands of satisfied students, we confidently provide a guarantee that is one of the best in the industry.

Johnny has characterized the money-back guarantee as being "hassle free". We refer to it as rock-solid because we do live up to it, yet it requires completion of the training materials, prior to the return. Specifically, throughout our website and on all of our materials it reads: "If, after completing the course, you feel the course didn't live up to your expectation, simply return the materials to Universal, for a 100% refund of any monies paid."

We structure the guarantee this way because we know that after a person has seen and completed the course in its entirety, he or she will recognize its tremendous value. This is much better than a 30 day guarantee because we guarantee a person's satisfaction however long it takes them to complete the course. If a person has completed the materials, and is dissatisfied, they merely request a Return Authorization Number and return the program.

When Johnny purchased the material, in August of 2006, the guarantee was read to him over the phone, the return policy was written on his invoice, and the coursework included a certificate bearing the return policy and instructions in how to return the coursework.

Two months later, in October, he returned the coursework incomplete explaining that "There is much involved and I am unable to dedicate the study time required for this course". He later explained that he was also returning it because of a change in his financial position. Each of these situations is outside of our control, and does not reflect on the quality of the course.

We hope Johnny's situation improves and that he will take the opportunity to get the advantage of the coursework and improve his financial position -- after all, that's why he purchased the coursework in the first place.
