I am a college student and a woman almost the same age as I knocked on my door. She was selling magazines to win a trip to Rome, Paris or London. She was a fast talker asking me if "I was the man of the house" and so on. I was weary at first but, I had dealt with door to door magazine sales before without any problem. She kept going on and on about points etc. It wasn't until she left that I got uneasy about the whole ordeal. So thats when I did an internet search and found this.
I thought I had more streets smarts but, apparently I don't. Just wanted to inform others about this but hopefully they will find this before they get scammed like I did. Unfortunately, I paid cash and cannot cancel a check. By reading the other entries it seems like I can't do much about this. Live and learn.
